Q: The listing says it keeps drinks hot, and in the same breath said that the cap is not intended for hot beverages. Why is that?

I would assume bc of the plastic the lid is made of. Maybe one of the different lids you can swap to is more suitable for hot liquids?

Q: Can this be used without the chug cap?

I don’t think it’s worth the money- the yeti I purchased didn’t hold heat for longer than 2 hours- the top leaked steam- so I guess no would be my answer!
