After clove, it’s one of the strong anti-oxidants out there. Doesn’t smell weird. Product remains fresh. Good purchase. Wish they made bigger bottles. No shady ingredients. Does what it’s supposed to.

Common recommendations run from 4 mg - 8 mg per day. Why so little?Carotenoids compete for absorption. Any of them might be healthful, and megadosing might block another carotenoid's absorption that has yet to be studied as much.Carotenoids are metabolized slowly, perhaps 1-2 mg per day. They do accumulate over time. Beta-carotene eventually makes one's skin orange and simultaneously raises one's risk of lung cancer. That is why supplements for AMD switched to lutein.Canthaxanthin was shown to accumulate in the retina, first in chickens when used to make their egg yolks redder, and later in bodybuilders who desired darker skin to imitate suntan. Vision recovered when the dosage was reduced.Lutein was shown to accumulate in the retina and the brain. That was generally desirable but some who took 40 mg per day experienced vision problems. They recovered after switching to a 10 mg -20 mg dosage.The only carotenoid shown to be safe was lycopene which can be tolerated at more than 75 mg per day.Astaxanthin simply has not been tested enough. LEF which has sold it for decades used 4 mg - 8 mg daily doses. I would not recommend taking 24 mg of astaxanthin every day.I use a 4-day cycle of 40 mg lutein, 24 mg astaxanthin, 25 mg lycopene, and again 25 mg lycopene.

I want the Astaxanthin but for people watching their heart-healthy Omega's, you don't want or need high amounts of Omega-6. This product has 200 mg. You want high amounts of Omega-3 and Omega-9, and low amounts of Omega-6. It's all about the ratio. If you consume high amounts of Omega-6, which this product has, you need to increase your 6 & 9.

I’ve never had an astaxanthin product with iridescence/glitter. Or not smell/taste like the ocean when I check out the inside of the capsule. Never had a red colored capsule either. Great idea of a product. But highly skeptical of this product.

I love this product! I've been using for years and I don't have problems with burning working in the Sun. I enjoy it sunbathing and can have exposure three times longer.

Temperature controls must be enforced across the supply chain, from manufacture to customer to guarantee quality. One container of the two bound together and sold as a unit, had their content fused due to excessive heat--for the product. This had to have occurred prior to binding. The nutritional content is greatly degraded if not non-existent. Take a look at your storage.
