I needed a very small, versatile vac to handle the cleaning of my hot tub connected to my pool. We had been previously using hand pumps for this work. They never were able to get the hot tub completely free of sand, grit, and other debris. I purchased this unit along with an 18ft pool vacuum hose that connects to the skimmer intake near my hot tub. The shorter hose is a perfect length for this work and keeps the project manageable. Longer hoses can be a pain to manipulate. First try with the unit resulted in poor results. There are just too many bristles on the brush and the intake ports are too small for the unit to suck up the sand and debris without just merely brushing it around. I followed the suggestions made by several reviewers. Drilled a hole in the center bottom of the unit roughly 1.5in in diameter. I also cut away the center bristles leaving only the first two rows of outer bristles. After these mods, this little beauty worked like a charm. She sucked up all the sand and fine particulate at the bottom of the hot tub. I was able to easily manipulate the unit while attached to the end of my conventional skimmer/vacuum pole. Complete clean job done in less than 10 mins. The price of this little gem makes it a great value for the money. You definitely will want to make the suggested modifications, however, if you hope to pick up debris. The mods will also help to pick up bigger debris like leaves and pine needles. I do wish that the unit was a bit heavier, but that is certainly not a deal breaker.

This was perfect tool - after a simple custom modification - to vacuum debris out from the corners and folds of my pool. Fine sediment would builds up that my robot could not pick up from the bottom, which requires directly porting out the waste line. This tool would concentrate on exactly on the tight creases in which my regular Pool vacuum head could not reach readily. Like many other reviewers, I trimmed off half the brushes and drilled additional holes… perfect solution for an annoying problem!

Bought this to clean resistant algae stain from pool corners (sans suction). Allows aggressive cleaning right into the corner, without metal in typical wire brush scraping plaster. Small size and pointed shape allows apply aggressive local pressure, one spot at a time. Also works well to aggressively clean small areas of flat sections. The understandable downside is that you have work on one spot at a time, so doing large area stains takes time and diligence. But it removes stains that a 5" flat brush doesn't. May eventually wear down, but these are cheap enough to treat as disposable. I've ordered a backup.

Good to use on the end of a pole or in the hand. Good value. Effective and durable. Good quality.

This little guy is amazing for the price. You can adjust the suction high mid and low. It fits a standard handle for pool brushes. The bristles are pointed in the center perfect for corners. If you want to manually vacuum a pool this is perfect.

I incorrectly assumed that the brush would spin. That would be useful. The fact that it doesn’t makes it not so desirable. It doesn’t even suck up dirt in the corners so readily. Luckily not to much dinero was wasted .

I have a fiberglass pool with a 2" ledge all around it. It's a really practical feature that makes it easy to stand even in the deep end but it's impossible to clean with a traditional vacuum head, let alone with a robot vacuum. This works perfectly to clean all the dirt off the ledge. It suctions really well. However, as other users have noted, there is no hole to pick up anything bigger than dirt or silt. I drilled a 1" hole in the middle of the head, which has worked really well. So now I can pick up small debris in addition to dirt.
