Q: Does this printer have capability to print direct to disc cd/dvd or anyone know an a3 printer that does

This does not print directly to DVD. I don't know of an A3 printer that does. I keep an old Canon iP7250 inkjet (A4) for this purpose. Richard Mann

Q: Can you email documents on this?

You should be able to. These printer model now use the Brother mobile connectnApple or Android Apps to do a multitude of things. Easier to save and then attach to send, where applicable on type.

Q: Can the scanner bed accommodate A3? Will it photocopy or scan a3 documents?

The scanner is A4 only. For A3 scan options please consider MFC-J6540DW or MFC-J6940DW.
