this works amazing. haven't cast anything yet. only complaint would be the crucible is large for the furnace. after refractory cement there's not allot of room to grab the crucible. and like all of these, there's no appropriate tool to lift hot crucible. but that's typical. this is very good quality. nice thick stainless construction, burner works great. I've melted some old copper pipe down so far. working on building some tools to handle the crucible, I'd recommend ordering a small crucible as well if this is your first furnace.

it comes in a single white box with everything in it make sure you have a propane tank ready so that you can connect and use it once you get it

It works amazing. Smelts aluminum, very easily. Also smelts copper and brass but takes a little longer. For only $130 I’d say it’s a steal of a deal. This is my first smelter and so I knew nothing about preheating the crucible, and so it now has a lot of small cracks, but it still works good.

This was my first step into smelting and casting. It's been doing a great job! REMEMBER - USE RIGIDIZER 1st and than 3000F REFRACTORY CEMENT on the insulation - BEFORE USE. Follow instructions carefully and it'll last for years!

Great price for a forge and comes with almost everything you need, i say almost because you really need to buy a ceramic coating for the fiber glass on the inside to use it properly and it doesn't come with that since it's meant to be on the cheaper side, the tongs it comes with also aren't great but everything considered this is probably the best budget furnace as long as you're willing to coat it yourself and buy a different pair of tongs

I got a great deal on this unit and decided to try it. I've had it for several months now but finally got around to breaking it in and melted about 60 cans the other night. It lit and ran good, took a bit to get the gas on the bottle, the control on the propane hose and the air adjustment on the furnace adjusted right, but once I did it made short work of the cans. You will want a spoon of some sort with a decent length handle to get rid of the dross that forms from the paint and crap on the cans. My crucible also didn't have a pour spout and I learned I should have filed one because I poured a lot of the aluminum on the ground, lol. oh well, first time trying anything like this and had a great time, can't wait to do more.

As a beginner metallurgy hobbyist I needed something small to get me started. After reading many reviews, I decided on this Cast Master to get me started. Other people's reviews were helpful to know the best way to have success. If all goes well, then I'll be purchasing more Cast Master.

I purchased the furnace as a "used" unit but doesn't look like it's ever been fired up. It arrived promptly. The product appears to be well made. The gas regulator assembly has already been properly converted to the correct fitting for US propane tanks. So I am rating the furnace 5 stars. However, if there was a way to rate Amazon's repackaging separately, I would rate that a weak 2. Reason being they shipped the crucible INSIDE the furnace so that as the package was handled and jostled around the crucible squished the kaowool insulation so instead of being 1" thick, it is now maybe 1/2" thick and I will need to replace it before I can safely use the furnace.

Enjoyed the simplicity of it along with feeling in control and safe while dealing with propane. The loud torch sound is nothing to fear when using it. You want that loud sound to gain the best heat. Melting cans and casting ingots is a lot of fun!

The delivery time was very fast and i am happy with the quality of the product. The price was also really good compared to other places selling the same item
