PERFECT TOOL FOR WHAT I NEEDED!!!
I purchased this for the simple fact that I knew it would save me money for the job that I had to do on my House and garage roof. I had to pull First , and in some cases second, row of nails from replacing facia and shingle mold trim around house and garage. After seeing plywood rot on first 6” on one side of garage, I had to pull first 6 rows of shingles to remove 2’ of plywood. Contractors wanted anywhere from $4500 to $6500 to do job. 2 of em tried to sell me a complete new roof… $10K to$12K. FT!!! No one was willing or wanted to do I wanted done the way I wanted it done.I knew about this tool for about a year or so.Read previous reviews on this to educate myself… Just in case. Glad I did!!DO NOT USE A REGULAR METAL HAMMER WITH THIS… YOU WILL BREAK IT ON FIRST OR SECOND NAIL!! USE A 2lb DEAD BLOW!!! (cheap at Harbor Frieght)Mine worked fine with either hot dipped or electroplated galvanized nails…. I suggest using hot dipped. I had some, used em up , and all the stores I went to only had electroplated in the size I needed.Perfect tool for the niche it was designed for!!

It works!
I had to replace a run of D Style "drip edge" prior to new gutter installation over my garage door, and I couldn't have accomplished the job without this tool. The "roof snake" is well made, and it worked best when using a 2 pound "dead blow" hammer. It would have been better for my application if the nail holder portion was 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer.Nonetheless, I am happy with the purchase.

A keeper!
I’ve been doing multiple remodeling jobs since we moved into this house 8 years ago. I guess that’s what we get when the house was built in 81. Patching roof jobs gets rather difficult when you need to hammer nails in under existing shingles. More often than not I crack the shingle. No good! This tool allows me to get a nail under there and still hammer it down effectively without cracking the shingle. Note I was doing this in October! It’s a whole lot easier in July when all the shingles are much more maliable. This is definitely a tool I’m keeping handy any time I’m on the roof!

Part holding nail used as hammer could be longer under shingle. Paint chips.
This thing should not be painted at all. After first his paint damaged but after the roof repair was down to bare metal. Save the customer a few bucks and don’t paint it at all. Part that goes under shingle when nailing not quite long enough to go under the row above without having shingle above resting on riser portion. This sets the above row shingle on the riser in easy striking distance of the hammer combined with my mishits caused damage to shingle resting on riser face. Give me some space and make this distance an inch longer so it fits well under the above row shingle when nailing and there is little chance for damage.

Watched lots of YouTube…works!!!!
Been wanting to install MrHeater garage furnace and the chimney was my biggest concern to peel back shingles. After seeing videos almost all contractors are using this gem. Works as needed to avoid shingle damage to seat new nails under existing shingles.

Very well made
I thought this would be a bit thin and might not last long. I was suprised. It was very heavy and made well.
