Mostly Awesome, Great Price Point
Updated: The issues were mostly my sub placement and tv configuration. If you have a Sony, adjust sound output to auto 1 and set hdmi ports to “enhanced”. Recommend.Original: For this price, the sound bar and sub woofer combo is great. I got this mainly for the Earc capabilities and it works with my new Sony TV wonderfully. Just plug the Earc HDMI connection into your TV and you’re good to go with no programming necessary. Your tv remote will automatically control the Soundbar.Out the box, the sound bar sounds OK, but I do notice some bass echoing in some applications. I had an older Vizio sound bar with a subwoofer and never had this issue. I’m going to try to adjust the settings to see if I can get rid of it and will update its review if I can. The dialogue is crystal clear but the bass a find a bit distorted. Also, I’m not sure sure whether it relates to a tv setting or the actual Soundbar, but sometimes when I turn on the tv the Soundbar initiates but no sound is emitted. Still, at this price point for Earc access, can’t be beat.

Great Choice!!!!
We recently purchased the Vizio Sound Bar, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This sleek and stylish sound bar has significantly enhanced my home theater experience. Here are some key reasons why I love it:1. Audio Quality: The sound quality is outstanding. It delivers clear and immersive audio, making movies, music, and gaming come to life. The dialogue is crisp, and the bass packs a punch without overwhelming the other elements.2. Easy Setup: Setting up the Vizio Sound Bar was a breeze. It comes with all the necessary cables and clear instructions, and I had it up and running in minutes. The wireless subwoofer paired seamlessly.3. Design: The design is modern and minimalist, which complements my TV setup perfectly. It doesn't take up much space and can be wall-mounted if you prefer.4. Remote Control: The included remote control is intuitive and easy to use. It allows for quick adjustments to the volume, settings, and input sources.5. Connectivity:* I appreciate the multiple connectivity options, including Bluetooth, HDMI ARC, and optical input. This versatility makes it compatible with various devices.6. Price Point: For the quality of audio it delivers, the Vizio Sound Bar is reasonably priced. It's a great value for the performance it offers.7. Customizable Sound:The sound presets and EQ settings allow you to tailor the audio to your preferences. Whether you want booming bass for action movies or a balanced profile for music, you can fine-tune it.In summary, the Vizio Sound Bar has exceeded my expectations. It has transformed my living room into a mini home theater, providing an exceptional audio experience. If you're looking to elevate your sound quality without breaking the bank, I highly recommend giving this sound bar a try.

a very good soundbar
This is a very good soundbar for the money. I am hard of hearing so I cannot comment on how it works for music and sophisticated sound, but for a hard-of-hearing person the spoken word is as good or better than other middle-of-the-road soundbars I own and have listened to. I will play around with the treble and bass as well as the Dolby Atmos over the next week or so and if there are monumental changes I will re-review. I was unable to install an HDMI-ARC "splitter" but that is a problem of the Samsung TV rather than the soundbar. I hooked it up using the optical port and that is very easy to do. To avoid having to use two remotes (the HDMI-ARC would have solved that) I am using universal remotes for ROKU, and that allows me to use just the one remote. A short comment on optical cables - whoever invented the optical plug should have to endure eternal damnation - and those (VIZIO) who place the optical port in awkward to use locations on soundbars should join the other guy.

Very good value ... but no Atmos effect
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this Vizio soundbar which I've been using for 4 months, especially given its low cost. The audiophile reviewers here provide much better sound analysis than I can, but basically:* The audio has been very good across a variety of content* The sound is much richer and fuller than what my new TV provides, even though the TV speakers' quality is decent* The M 2.1 makes dialog much easier to understand than basic TV speakers do* There have been no technical issues with the soundbar; it's worked flawlessly* Setting up the product to work with my TV was intuitive and only took a few minutes* The remote is easy to use for basics like volume control; it's not too hard to learn how to use the more advanced features. You'll probably wind up using your TV remote to control the audio though. The Vizio loses one star because I noticed virtually no difference between Dolby Atmos and non-Atmos audio. Honestly I didn't expect much from this claimed feature since the soundbar only has stereo speakers and a subwoofer. But if a company markets its product as providing such a distinctive and high value feature as Dolby Atmos sound, it should provide at least a watered down version of the real thing. The M 2.1 fails in this respect. However, if you can be happy with very good sounding stereo speakers for your TV at a bargain price, this Vizio soundbar is a great choice.
