I'm using this for a very "off label" use case: I needed to adapt from 1/2" NPT to 1/4 tubing for my drip irrigation system, and this item fit the bill. So far it has been buried for about 1 month and the system is still working alright. I do find that the threads do not bite in quite like a usual NPT would, but there is a face seal that does seem to work well at forming a water tight seal.

I replaced and installed lots of RO water filters for my home, my kids home, and for my friends. Most of the time, the RO come with all the parts you need expect for main water line connection which they provide a 1/2” “T“ connector. Most newer homes today, use 3/8”. But I also installed RO units for ice makers, drink stations and in other different locations. As such having various extra push to fit connectors have been a life saver. Otherwise running to HD for one connector would cost as much a whole package of 8 or more. In Las Vegas we have both 1/4” and 3/8” lines. And the newer ROs are also using both as well.

I'm sure they work well based on reviews however I realized the reason they didn't fit what I needed them for. The thread fits normal fittings NOT compression fittings. That's on me. My co-worker had some before I had these and tested those. Really good seal

These fittings are well made and bite right down on the hose with no leaks. They are very convenient and easy to remove and reuse. Highly recommend!
