So worth it!
I bought this based on someone's recommendation when I asked if I should splurge on the $100+ Skinceuticals ferulic serum. Obviously, you can't beat the price of this, so I went ahead and got it. First of all, it comes beautifully and carefully packaged, obviously done with personal care and I really appreciate that. Each bottle is individually marked with the date it was made. I've been using it for about 2-3 months now. Here's the thing - I already have somewhat decent skin, I'm in my early 30's, so no miracles need to or would happen no matter what. My skin is on the dry side and can get a little flaky sometimes with makeup, and I also have slight discoloration (red spots and marks from trying to pop non-existent zits). I have a whole skin care regimen, and use this consistently at night after cleansing and exfoliating and before moisturizing. The smell is not the best - BUT that doesn't matter to me, because this SHOULD'NT smell good, it's some pretty hardcore stuff! Point being, I wouldn't be able to wear it in the AM. Maybe you can! It doesn't take away from the product for me, because I think every nite is enough. Now, I can't say is this is better than the pricey Skinceuticals or whatever other brand. I didn't buy it, so I can't compare it. What I can say is that I do believe this has made my skin healthier and more even over the last few months, and I also believe that it is helping to prevent damage and keep it as young as possible. I can't tell you it's a miracle, because nothing really is, and I didn't need one. I just wanted my skin to be as healthy and healthy looking as possible. This does it for me, and I will be a repeat customer for a very long time. I highly reccomend giving this a try if you're getting into the ferulic serum game. You have nothing to lose because you just can't beat this price, and the pride nuFountain clearly has in their product. And let me be clear - I am not cheap when it comes to skin care. I will spend money when it's worth it, and all of my skin care products are premium. But after doing a lot of research about ferulic serums, and then trying this for a few months, I am convinced this stuff is just as good as the super expensive products. Stop reading a million reviews and just buy this, it's more than worth it.

Changed formula and raised prices
It used to be one of the best. Paid $20 for it. Gradually increased to $25 but now its $45 is a completely different league. Can no longer recommend

Not bad but runny
I've tried a variety of Vitamin C serums - expensive and from Amazon, and I've found the NuFountain formulation to be better than even some more expensive name brands. I have several sun spots which have lightened somewhat and new spots are not forming. I do not use it every day. I also have sensitive skin and this has not bothered it very much, if I use the product sparingly, being mindful what I put on my face the night before (ie. Retin A or glycolic).HOWEVER, I find the solution to be extremely runny, which is why I will not be re-purchasing.We are told to the put the solution on our hands and then apply to our faces. This seems like a waste of product to me, and while it's easy to pat the serum into my cheeks, it's a little harder on my forhead and around my temples. I had tried to use the dropper to dispense liquid onto my face but the serum runs so quickly it sometimes got into my eyes. And, due to its runniness, I managed to spill more than half the bottle into the sink quickly, so am now forced to purchase another bottle, which, unfortunately, will not be this serum.

A few DIY tweaks to hopefully optimize the skin healing benefits of this serum
After years of not paying attention to my skin, I've been noticing that I'm starting to develop fine lines on my forehead. Now that I'm noticing the lines, I've also started to notice other problems including hyper pigmentation from sun exposure and old acne, as well as overall skin dehydration. After I got over being freaked out about these visible signs of aging, I've been working on creating a skin care regimen to address these issues.Vitamin C has a strong evidence base in terms of improving skin health. I've investigated DIY vitamin C formulations, and while I'm eventually going to head in the DIY direction, gathering the raw materials, containers, and measurement devices is pretty expensive. NuFountain's C20 + Ferulic is a good alternative. One of the biggest drawbacks about vitamin C serums are that they rapidly oxidize. The NuFountain formulation contains Ferulic acid which synergistically works with vitamin C to protect against oxidation in the skin, however other, more expensive formulations additionally contain vitamin E and an accompanying emulsifier. Vitamin E is an oil soluble antioxidant that stabilizes and works synergistically with water soluble vitamin C to help retard oxidation. IMHO I'm thinking the vitamin E has not been added to the NuFountain formulation because the more expensive products have patented the C+E+ferulic acid + pH range combination that is most bioavailable. NuFountain's formulation hits all the targets except the vitamin E addition, but I can work with that.Since I'm a DIYer at heart, I've made a few changes to help with the oxidation problem. The first thing I've done is wrapped the bottle with aluminum foil to decrease light exposure as much as possible. Another change I've made is I've added a few drops of a vitamin E containing oil to the top of the bottle. Since there is no emulsifier, I haven't bothered shaking it - the oil is just to create a barrier between the serum and air. (I think a few drops of mineral oil might be even more effective, as mineral oil is inert and non-comedogenic, but that's a DIY aside). When it comes time to apply the serum (right after I've washed my face with a gentle non-dehydrating cleanser) I put a few drops of my vitamin E containing oil onto the palm of my hand, then add a few drops of the NuFountain vitamin C serum, then swirl them together, and then apply to my face with my fingertips.Other reasons why I like this formulation:-I have sensitive skin that reacts poorly to lemon\orange\other citrus extracts that smell good and are often added to other formulations. The NuFountain formulation doesn't contain any of these extra fragrances or ingredients that will irritate my skin.-It contains L-ascoborbic acid, which is the form of vitamin C which has been studied the most in terms of benefits to the skin. Many of the other companies formulations that can be found on Amazon.com contain less well studied forms of vitamin C and their efficacy has not been established.-The pH formulation is optimized so that the L-ascorbic acid is bioavailable.-It's a stand alone product that I can work into my overall skincare layering system (i.e. I'm taking my cue from Korean skincare tips).Note: I paid for this product myself and was not sponsored or asked to write a review!References:Lin, Fu-Hsiung, et al.
