I prefer a hard-wire connection and this does the job connecting my laptop to a hard-wire CAT-5 line. Easy snap-in connection and has never failed. Would buy again!! Great price.

I rewired my son's rooms so that he could have ethernet at his desk. He makes a lot of YouTube videos and being able to load them faster saves time. This adapter works great and with the USB hubs, helps with other devices being plug in. A must for someone who also moves around or travels.

***The seller reached out and made good on the faulty device. Sometimes things just don’t work like they should. It’s not the reseller’s fault but it’s always good to find someone willing to make it right. This seller did and even followed up after making it right!I have reached out to customer support only to be ignored. I thought this device would be super handy since my laptop has limited ports and I am hardwired to my LAN. Then I'd notice my laptop was on wi-fi many times and it took me a while to figure out where the problem lied. It was within this device. I swapped it out with a straight LAN connector and have not had a single issue months later. If support would have been a little helpful maybe I could have had the unit replaced. I won't buy another one of these.

We had one at home but forgot to bring it along. Ordered another one, because the first one worked perfectly right out of the box. This second one kept shutting off. Thinking it was defective a third one was ordered and it, too kept shutting off. 66% failure rate was not likely so a deep dive into the settings. [windows key]-->device manager-->Network Adapters-->Realtek USB Gigabit controller-(right click)-->properties-->advanced-->idle power saving-->disable Whew!I think the problem is that it doesn't come out of "idle power saving" which is a bug.OK, off to UPS to send the second one back. This was the best priced USB-C ethernet adapter I could find, and it worked fine at first, but after a few weeks I decided to use it with my laptop (which lacks an ethernet port) to run a plex server.I noticed that the plex server would intermittently drop out, and then realized that the laptop was losing internet connection when this happened. I spent a lot of time fiddling with my firewall and network settings thinking there must be a problem somewhere, because resetting the adapter or restarting the computer solved the problem each time. I finally thought to try using a different network adapter, and the problem went away.Bottom line, this works in a pinch, but don't expect a reliable stable network connection.EDIT: So I contacted the seller, and they responded within a couple of days and recommended that I download the Realtek gigabit driver from the Realtek website rather than using Windows Update. I did this, and voila, no further connection issues.

Works exactly as expected without any additional software. I don’t use it for long term connections. Spot use in emergency applications. Seems sturdy and should last.

I got a new Mac computer a year ago, and this adapter to go with it, as I use ethernet. Early on, my computer would alert me that it was no longer online. Occasionally it would get itself back online, but 95% of the time, it would just give up on trying to connect, and I would have to turn off the machine and reboot from scratch. This would happen multiple times a day. I was continually calling Apple Tech Support to find out what was going on. Different techs proposed different solutions-- from adjusting settings in sleep and screensaver modes, to changing ethernet cables, to comparisons with wifi functioning (at the library), to upgrading internet speed, to getting various diagnostics done on the computer and on the provider modem. I spent about 10 hours of tech phone calls on this and many hours redoing long emails and docs that didn't have a chance to save before the disconnect.Finally this week, a particular error message appeared, "USB accessories disabled. Unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable USB devices." Apparently it is the ABLEWE ethernet adapter that has been causing the problem.I have been talking with Amazon customer service who have tried to help, but because it is over a year old, they say they have no way to refund directly. However---and other disgruntled ABLEWE adapter users, take note-- THIS ADAPTER HAS A 24-MONTH WARRANTY. Amazon folks encouraged me to contact the manufacturer at www.ablewe.com and give them the Amazon order number, pointing to the warranty. The Amazon team asked me to report back to them on the outcome. I will follow through.

Excellent bit of kit for adding Ethernet to an IPad or Surface Pro device

Hub peu encombrant, léger, en aluminium, semble faire le job. J'ai testé avec un câble Ethernet sans problème et j'ai mis 3 clés USB dessus sans souci. Il reste juste à savoir s'il va durer... Mais pour ça, il faut attendre! Suffisant pour mon utilisation, je souhaitais pouvoir accéder à internet par Ethernet de façon occasionnelle car plus rapide que le wi-fi et comme mon nouveau PC Dell ne propose pas cette prise, il m'a fallu trouver le moyen d'y arriver. De plus, je peux connecter mon disque dur USB 3.0, alors que mon PC ne propose plus que des prises USB C, en nombre réduit qui plus est.

Ho ordinato questo articolo per ovviare alla mancanza di porta lan nel mio Laptot. La conaegna é stata rapidissima, il prodotto é arrivato ben confezionato in una piccola scatola con istruzioni. Il funzionamento é semplicissimo, basta collegarlo al pc attraverso la sua usb tipo C, e una volta collegato il cavo lan la connessione é stata immediata senza alcuna configurazione. Perfetto e pratocissimo. Inoltre ho implementato le porte usb visto che questo piccolo connettore ne prevede tre ausiliarie. Ottimo, ben fatto e il prezzo buono, acquisto sicuramente consigliato.
