This is an okay mouse, but not worth the pricetag!
I bought this mouse a few months ago and have been using it every day since. The build quality is very, very good. The mouse looks somewhat like the Rat series, and is adjustable through a fair bit of range to make it as comfortable as possible. The button functions all work very well and it's a pretty accurate gaming device. Where this mouse falls down a bit is the battery vs tether and in the Razer Synapse 2.0 software. The device description says it's "hot swapable" between tethered use and battery only. That might be true, but every time I've tried to do it, it crashes and I have to reboot my system to get mouse control back. When I do get mouse control back, the X/Y axes are messed up, so I have to spend time messing with it to get it to behave again. Then, shortly thereafter, the battery will die requiring me to re-tether, which crashes the mouse and I have to start the whole process over again. I've had Logitech gaming mice with a single AA battery that last six months, but this mouse can't seem to go more than 4 hours without dying. In the Razer software dashboard, you can configure the mouse in un-tethered mode to dim or turn off the LEDs that make it look so nice, and to ratchet down the number of times it pings, all in an effort to gain better battery life, but none of that really seems to make any difference. So, in the end, I have to use this mouse in tethered mode all of the time, which is really annoying. I wish I'd maybe tried a RAT gaming mouse or something else, because this one's glitchy and doesn't perform as advertised - all of this for a premium pricetag. Maybe the extra money paid for the packaging, which was definitely top of the line, first rate stuff. If you like a tethered mouse for gaming, this one is very good. If you'd like an un-tethered mouse, this one will really frustrate you and make you want to put it in a drawer and forget about it...except for the guilt of having paid that much money only to unplug the darned thing.

Great mouse - little expensive
I love the feel of this mouse and I really like the ability to modify it to fit your hand. I'm not to thrilled by the battery life; however. I sometimes forget to put it in the charger and it's dead the next time I go to use it. Not a huge concern though because you can easily unplug the base and plug it into the mouse until it's charged up.

Ok, but low battery life
I was excited to finally find a high-res and low-latency wireless mouse for my intricate 3D CAD work, but I was a bit disappointed by this one.The battery doesn't last very long (a day or so), so you have to constantly keep it on the charging cradle when not in use.A bit of a pain. It's partly because it only takes a single AA, partly because it probably has a relatively fast / power hungry chip to get the high-res high sampling rate.My cheap Logitech wireless mice lasted months on a pair of rechargeable AAs.Also, sometimes the mouse pointer movements feel crooked, not quite moving in the right direction.Other mice don't have this issue on the same surface. Also, when you try to wake the computer up from screen-saver mode, the mouse takes several seconds to start working. It's pretty irritating.Overall, it's a bit disappointing, especially considering how expensive it is.

Great mouse but always room for improvement
First off... I am happy to have finally obtained this immensely sought after mouse. The packaging it comes in was pretty cool as well. Nice clear acrylic box with the mouse sitting on a slanted acrylic stand, nice touch. Overall the mouse feels great. Buttons are solid and have the same feel as the Razer Taipan ambidextrous gaming mouse, scroll wheel is solid with just the right amount of pressure needed to roll it up and down. The side buttons are in the same place on both sides of the mouse for another ambidextrous feature. Next the switchable "wings" on the side of the mouse just like the picture. Nice magnetic locking feature to easily switch out from the wings or finger rests to the regular pieces that sit flush with the rest of the mouse. Not flimsy when installed either, the magnets do a nice job of keeping them in place. This to me is a low profile mouse which means it sits low. Not a very tall mouse like other gaming mice out there (like the Roccat Kone XTD mouse). Again a great feel and a great mouse with a lot of features.A plus is that it comes with it's own rechargeable AND REMOVABLE battery. Can either use it wireless and wired. Now for the wireless portion. Most gaming enthusiasts out there typically DO NOT use wireless mice due to the amount of "lag" the wireless option can incur while gaming (as most gamers know, you need all of the response time you can get). There is no lag at all when using this mouse wireless. Battery does drain a bit fast while using wireless and having the lights on. It also comes with it's own stand alone "base station" that you can hook up using the included micro USB - USB cord. Can also sit the mouse right on the stand to charge it whenever it's not in use.Now the mouse does have a cool couple of features to further customize the feel and fit of the mouse to your particular grip style. The main palm rest and be moved up and down to get the right feel for your palm, then it can be moved in and out from the main section of the mouse to match the length of your fingers and overall length of your hand. Then using the same method to lengthen or shorten the palm rest, you can take the cover off to reveal the battery hidden inside. Typical of all wired mice, the cable hooks into the front of the mouse with it's own set of guide rails to keep the cable aligned and to help keep the cable secured to the mouse port.To turn on the mouse you simply depress the top two DPI switching buttons and there you go. 5 seconds to turn off and 3 seconds to turn on. Also for the instructions, if you need to look them up, Google them since the paper instructions included are pretty much useless other than a basic overview of the mouse features. This mouse can of course be synced up and calibrated and customized further with the use of Razer Synapse 2.0. You can completely customize the X and Y axis for the DPI, can only change the brightness of the lights. And the amount of DPI is insane, around 8200. I don't know who needs that much but it opens up the entire field for wherever your movement speed is neededAs for gaming mice in general, there is always room for improvement but for this mouse it is pretty damn good. I just wish it was a little bit wider overall minus the "wings" since my hand is bigger than most mice provide in width.Hopefully this helps for you guys. See you in the Battlefield!

The overall appeal of the mouse is great, but razer failed with this mouse by making the sensor/lazer readjust or resync everytime it was placed on a surface, so if you are a gamer who lifts the mouse often it will cause problems with your gameplay as the mouse will "resync" rendering the mouse unusable for a few seconds while it reconnects. Otherwise the mouse is great ergonomically comfortable and well built.

Good mouse, but not sure
Pros:-wired and wireless-customizable (software and hardware)-confortable-preciseCons:-overpriced-wireless dongle is way too huge (it's the charging dock)-the profile software is very slow and greedy (in space and resources)

THE RAZER OUROBOROS
This mouse i bought to replace my RAT 7 and the mouse looks goodand has lots of lights but the tracking is horrible and there is nometal structure i think that the RAT 7 is a way better mouse and go for that one instead of the RAZER OUROBOROS

Looks Great Wor,ks Great
This mouse is a charm, incredibly smooth and sturdy, and on top it works great, although I never use the 8400 DPI setting, its useful to have for some people.Battery life is pretty long (about 5-7 hours for me, continuous usage) and you can always switch to wired or alkaline batteries if the rechargeable runs out.
