I know that the vast majority of you have no idea what these are. You are wondering why anyone would be writing a review of something like this. Well, Amazon promised to tell me a joke if I wrote reviews of seven of the items I have purchased, and I like jokes. I am worried, however, that the joke is not going to be worth my efforts. If that is the case, read my EIGHTH review to hear what I have to say about their joke. Anyways, these tops are really cool and bring back a lot of memories. I am a child of the sixties and I played with these back then. What did you expect? We had NO computers, NO smart phones (heck, cell phones weren't even a dream back then), NO internet, NO cable, NO satellite, and we only got THREE channels on the old television, and we didn't get a color TV until '68. So, yeah, I played with tops, and even back then I was one of very few kids in my entire school that knew how to use them, but that made me the envy of many of my classmates. These tops are made of wood, and they are solid and durable. Do yourself and a kid you know a favor and order these. There are videos of the internet that will teach you how to use them and then do tricks with them. Then you, too, can be the envy of your friends and family (or at least the object of their scorn and derision, but what do they know? They are just jealous.). You can have a lot of fun indoors or out (or break a lot of stuff indoors) and you'll know how to do something that no one else you know can do. Entertain your family, be the life of the party, get groupies (I hope you can tell that I am just being sarcastic, now). But seriously, get some and learn how to play like kids did seventy-five or more years ago, without a gadget or electricity. Shoot, these don't even need the wind to blow like kites do (something else I ordered, and you should, too). Just have some simple, basic, good old-fashioned fun. Okay, I'm done. There isn't a whole lot else to say about these. They're just wooden tops. They have a metal point that isn't very dangerous. They use a string that, if you tried really hard, I'm sure you could yourself or someone else with. Okay, that's it. There's no more. So why are you still here? I'm leaving; you staying here is kind of weirding me out, now.

The spinner is not wooden, it is plastic. The balance is not good. My daughter spent 2 hours and she could not spin one time. I spent almost an hour more than 100 times; and only spinner one time for about 10 seconds. The spinner video does not reflect reality. This is definitely not a product for kids below 12 years old.

Got this for my kids due to me having one when I was young , and they loved it ! Better than being on their iPads and watching tv. Highly recommend for all children
