Impressive, clear, recording.
Had to purchase this, as I gave up with inferior, sub-£30 digital recorders that I purchased from online sellers. The Sony TX660 is not a budget recorder, due to it's premium price, but in very many cases with premium goods, you get what you pay for. I have purchased many USB digital recorders, which are very discreet, and can be used at functions such as weddings/marriage ceremonies etc. They provide basic quality sound of which some are better than others. These have disappeared from sale, to a greater extent, and I am not really surprised. The Sony TX660 has impressed with its excellent, clear, sound quality, which is adjustable, and can be tailored for many events like meetings, conferences, lectures, and the like. While I would never advocate covert, secret recording without informing people that they are being recorded; (it could land you in big trouble!), the voice quality that this thing picks up if worn as a pocket clip attached recorder is impressive. Once you have experimented with the various setting menus on the the OLED screen, and become more familiar with the small side buttons, which are small, I admit, you will not be disappointed with the sound results, once transferred to Laptop or PC. The Sony is a excellent piece of kit in a small, discreet, package, but at a price that reflects this.

Lightweight, portable, great sound, one-click record
This is extremely lightweight and therefore highly portable. I love the fact you can just clip this to a coat pocket. I use it as a memo whenever I need it. Beats using a notepad and pen, which I usually forget to carry with me. The sound quality is great. I have used it for everything from recording presentations to capturing bird song and recording piano. The battery lasts ages. My only slight gripe is that the record button is extremely fiddly. For the sake of making it sleek they have made this button sleek as well. When I have it clipped to my top or coat pocket I often hit the record button only to find out it didn't press down properly, and so didn't actually record. It needs to be a bigger, easy to press button. Having said that, the fact that all you have to do is hit one button and it starts recording immediately is a winner for me.

Outstanding
Brilliant Sony quality. I use these devices at work and have tried several brands, always come back to Sony. You cannot go wrong with any of the Sony recorders but the sound quality on this is outstanding. Very easy to use, very discreet and looks very cool.

Excellent if you can manage micro-controls
Rccording quality very good and links well to PC, but the contols are so small they are hard to locate and its difficult to use

Good, but could be better
When I first saw photos on here I thought that the buttons would be backlit -- they're not, and I guess that the brightness was a result of flash photography. Hence the keys can be a bit fiddly if you're operating this in low light -- they're tiny and not great if you have sausage fingers or bad eyesight. However, the sound quality is fantastic and the small size is fantastic -- it is better overall than the larger UX570 (I tried and returned this) but it would be nice to have external memory support and a slightly better battery. Of course, the UX570 has some other features that this does not - such as a mic socket - but for me the ability to charge it with a USB-C lead is way better than the sliding plug of the other offering. In the future I'd love to see a model with bluetooth connectivity -- most of my headphones are bluetooth, so I need to dig out a very old pair to be able to listen to the clips in private. A note for any of the other vegans out there: the supplied case is synthetic / faux leather.

Awesome !
I have PX440 for 10 years, very happy with Sony quality. Now internal memory became corrupt although it is still possible to use micro SD. I wanted to buy another PX440 because of TX660's price. Luckily I decided to buy it. It exceeds my expectations all the way. Excellent!
