Perfect replacement case for my 2003 SC430 Lexus key case. Case cracked when I turned the key in the ignition a couple of months after battery replacement. I suspect the screw fell out. I was able to get the plastic off the metal part and insert it into the new case parts with the controller that wa fine. Works perfectly and appear to be well made.

The forst one I ordered from another vendor was cheap and fell apart the same day so when I went back to find a different one I saw these…I saw the De so sticker and remembered Denso is to Lexi’s & Toyota what AC Delco is to GM & Chevrolet…They somehow neglect to tell you that it’s a factory Lexus shell…they show the Denso sticker, but above it you can barely see the L symbol hidden behind a piece of tape which is meant to keep it from getting scratched, but you can see in the finished product that it looks absolutely original (except for the lack of wear & tear, lol)I didn’t see it until after I got it in my hand…and so far this one feels perfect…the button pack clicks in (at first I thought something wa wrong, it doesn’t just drop in, it will click to go deeper and it will feel just like your old one.If I have a problem, I will update the review, bit if not, be sure it is still working like a charmThey can be a little fussy to take apart and put together, it’s a pull apart and slide at the same time…be gently but strong and look at the open piece to plan your attack so you don’t break it

This is the first set that I have purchased from this seller, with 2 other sets purchased from a different seller over the past 5 - 6 years. The prior set all broke after approximately 18 to 24 months, all breaking at the same area around the base of the key stub. I even purchased a silicone case with the last set in attempts to protect the key case from cracking; however, it still cracked in the same general location. I think the crack occurs at a stress point (base of the key stub & key case) which takes the brunt of the stress upon turning the key to either to start or turn-off the ignition.This set appears to be a better fit. The composition of the material seems to be sturdier, but time will tell. I like the fact that the key case does have the Lexus Symbol versus the prior two cases not having any emblems, appearing very generic. Based upon the fit, the sturdiness of the material and having the Lexus Symbol, (vs a generic look), I think 4 out of 5 stars is appropriate. If the key case lasts longer than 18 months, I think the rating would be worthy of 5 out 5.As a side note the method used in the replacement (i.e. key sleeve / key case with a small set screw) is the same as the prior two sets with the difference being the aforementioned symbol, fit and sturdiness of the material employed.

Better than expected. I didn't need to modify either the original metal key nor the new plastic case pieces. the old metal key is a very tight fit but skillfully using a vise grip plier I was able to squeeze the plastic sheath all the way down flush with top of metal key - in retrospect cleaning the metal key using a good scouring pad or even some steel wool to remove old grime and grease then lubricating the key with some very light oil would have made sliding the new plastic sheath over the old key would have made an even better fit without the risk of damaging the plastic piece with the vise grips - fortunately I did not damage anything and I didn't need to cut or modify the kit nor did I have to grind the key. The Gold Lexus Log engraved on the back is a real bonus!! Considering what Lexus charges for a replacement body this is a real bargain - it appears that the quality of the plastic is as good or better than the original - very secure, no wiggle at all - all parts nice and tight and firm - feels strong and secure and looks better than new.

Poor quality it won’t fit

Paid for next day shipping after product photos showed this case has the densco sticker on backside and customer reviews showed this has the “L” Lexus logo on backside after removing a piece of black tape. This DOES NOT. (First photo shows my original case back next to the replacement) and unfortunately you cannot use your old back with new shell case. The case also does NOT close tightly. Although after installing the new case over my metal key, this DOES work for my car. I Gave this item 3 stars because although it will work, (and I’m not sure for how long because I just received it today) the product does not match the description or the reviews!

My car car key had broken in the middle of the fob housing and I practically needed pliers to turn the key. Overnight shipping and a 5 min install. My key fob is working like new. And I also have a extra one in case it brakes again. This is my 2nd time replacing the key fob.. so I assume it will happen again. Not having to go to the dealer for replacement is a real plus.

Everything fit great. Really easy to put my existing already cut key (from old FOB) into the holder which is then encapsulated within the back and front cover shells. Snap it into place and put in the screw with the enclosed mini screwdriver. My old key was embedded into the old fob and I had to break the plastic off from around it, which was the hardest part, but the entire task took less than 5 minutes...No more broken case FOB held together with tape!!!!
