Enjoy sliced bread!
The key to using this bread slicing box is having a good, extra long serrated bread knife. The bread holder and slicing guides are fine as long as you don’t cut into them. The extra long knife helps to insure that doesn’t happen. The crumb tray is a nice addition.

Best thing since…
Very easy to use, three different slice thicknesses available, and the knife seems to be decent quality, though it could be a couple inches longer to enable a bit better usability when slicing through a crusty loaf.

Disappointing Quality of Adjustable Width Guides
This helps cut homemade bread nicely, but the adjustable width guides are made of a bamboo plywood that is delaminating and coming apart. It's too bad it is not made with a better type of material.

It is worth it.
This is an amazing bread cutter. Because it's made out of bamboo, it will last quite awhile. It's so easy to use and the adjustability of the slices is what makes this so cool.

Do NOT buy this!! Poor construction and slivers of wood
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! Had high hopes for this, but they were quickly dashed. My husband kept asking for a bread slicing guide, so I did some research and read reviews and decided to try this one. I kept feeling like I had to put the knife at an angle to slice, and I couldn't figure out why until I saw the reason this morning. Where the side spindles connect to the main portion, both spindle guides are not flush in the notch they should fit into. I'm including pictures, and you can see in the one picture (looking at the top of the picture) that there is a gap in that notch that should not be there (I drew red lines on both sides of the guide to show the difference on both sides - one fits flush, the other does not and that is what causes the need for angled slicing). Also, with the first use, one of the spindle guides broke/split at the bottom of the guide. I also noticed this morning what I thought was a long crumb of bread crust stuck in a crevice at the bottom of the unit - but, no - it was a large sliver of wood from the unit that pulled right out (it was not connected to the unit - just sitting in the crevice). Luckily, that sliver of wood had not worked its way into a slice of bread we ate. Please, please, PLEASE . . . do NOT buy this item. However, if you do, be VERY cautious and aware; and check the entire unit very carefully each time you use it. I cannot stress this enough for safety reasons after finding that sliver of wood today!I would have given this product zero stars, but that is - unfortunately - not an option. All of these issues after only a few uses! I do NOT recommend this product, and I am going to return it and look for a safer product for my family.

It works pretty well
So, I love this thing lets start off with that but it does have some problems that make it annoying to use from time to time. It's very easy to clean, just clean it the way you would a cutting board, hot water, soap and a sponge and let it dry before use. It folds up very easily which is great for smaller kitchens or if you don't want it out all the time.As for the sturdiness, it's not bad but after a month of having it and around 20 loves of bread it does show signs of being cut up in the grooves and across. Could just be that I'm applying too much pressure or cutting longer than I should but it's worth noting. The adjustable cutting area is a great idea but with the bread machine that I use my loaves are too big for the medium loaf size and too small for the large loaf size so it just slides back and forth while I'm trying to cut my bread, not a big deal, just annoying. The backing piece of the cutter is very nice, I just wish there was some sort of a presser or holder for the other side. I have the problem of I put my loaf in, try to hold it in place while cutting and also trying to keep the slicer from shifting or sliding and I sometimes end up with wonky mis-cut bread that is the real problem for me. I hate trying to cut bread and them oops, it started sliding and now I have a cut that's normal to massive halfway through or normal to paper thin. It can be fixed by having someone press it against the backer but it sucks that I need help to cut bread because of that. All in all it's not a bad product and everything can be fixed or ignored but I just wish that some things were different.
