Beautiful book. Illustration of the little girl looks like my little ballerina in training to the T - curly hair and all! My daughter is almost three and beginning ballet, so I purchased this book to read to her the week before ballet class began. She loves it and we've read it every night for over a week. It is a very simple book and is marketed as a "I Can Read" book, so the story is just simple one line sentences. But the illustrations are BEAUTIFUL and feature full page color illustrations! Perfect gift for the beginner ballerina under age 5.

This is a great book for an early reader. The storyline, the vocabulary, and the author's choice of easy-to-read words make it a winner.My four year old daughter read the WHOLE story by herself, with the exception of a few sight words that I had to teach her. I love that the author included the list of sight words at the beginning, and the story is made of mostly cvc words. If your child is a phonetic reader, then this book may be perfect for you.

This is a great read for young girls. The message is very encouraging and will appeal to young readers. It is one of the books that my granddaughter keeps in her book bag. I am so glad that I found it on Amazon.

This book is engaging and beautifully illustrated. A superb teaching tool to review sight words and to encourage reading. Provokes conversation and holds the interests of your young reader. A must have for your library!

The sentences on each page are well-chosen for early readers. The illustrator did a particularly great job in depicting an African-American child.

3 year old loves it. It's interesting to see how they use the limited words and it seems effective for helping her learn how to read.

The book combines the fun story and simple language of an early reader with pictures that say a ballerina can be any little girl. She doesn't have to be blonde. She doesn't have to be white.
