Solid made of strong, thick, aluminum
Worked perfectly solid aluminum was easy to install with a Dremel, I can now use my pliers for something else besides releasing the hood of the car lol

Good looking, installs easily, works great, and costs little. A perfect product.
Installed on my old 2002 Honda Civic Coupe that I've been using a pair of pliers to open the hood on for years. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I bought the red version and it looks great, and is made of nice solid metal with 2 set screws to secure it to the shaft of the hood release cable. Installation took me about 15 minutes, with the bulk of that time being spent removing the body panel and, importantly, dremeling away the old plastic around the metal rod this attaches to. That's a required step, it would be pretty difficult to do without power tools, so make sure you have some sort of tool that can cut the plastic sheathing off. The hood open pull lever on my car takes about double the intended force to use, so I was worried the set screws wouldn't be enough to hold it in place, but it definitely is. In other words, this is just a great product. It looks even better than the original, fits perfectly and is high quality.

Very Cost Effective Solution
2004 Honda Element It’s been awhile since I’ve left a product review, but I could let it pass on this one. I broke the handle off of my hood release a couple months ago. I had since been able to open it with decent finger grip strength ;) However, with my son driving the car more, I knew it was time to fix it. That being said, I came across this product (and others like it), by accident. As you may have seen, replacing the entire cable isn’t exactly difficult, but it is definitely a bit involved. I had this handle on and done in less than 10 mins from start to finish. 1. Removed the interior kick panel that surround the hood release handle. As far as I remember, it just pulls off, being held in place by clips. 2. Used a Dremel with a cutoff wheel to remove the remainder of the broken plastic handle from the steel rod. 3. Installed this new, aluminum handle, using a bit of thread lock on the Allen screws (you don’t have to use thread lock). 4. Reinstalled the kick panel. Getting it on correctly and lined up under the bottom door sill cover took most of my time. Done! One more tip that seems to make a big difference for me was simply applying lubricating oil to the moving parts of the latch itself. With the new handle it now opens better than when new. Genius product that I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again a recommend!

Easier than replacing the cable for sure
First off no instructions are included. The Allen wrench for he set screw is too small to tighten it properly. If you search the internet you will find some instructions. I used my own wrench to get the setscrew nice and tight. It is strong Billet aluminum so it will last. Teh price is good and once installed it works great and looks OEM.
