I bought these mortar bags for pointing the brick slips around my fireplace, I found it much quicker and easier than using just a trowel and brick pointer. I found it best applying two bag fulls then tooling what I had filled, if I tried to do a third bag the first would be too dry to finish neatly. A bit of trial and error is required depending on substrate and materials being used. Great value to money, much cheaper than buying a mortar gun, one bag did all 6m2 over two days. The only negative I found was I puts a lot of strain on your hands, but regular breaks help with this.

This set is excellent the bags are very thick and heavy weight. I used this to point up some brick slips in a fire place as someone who has done this before by the traditional method of a trowel and pointing tool this is a game changer. Make sure you get the cement mix right and have it slightly wetter than normal or it won’t pipe out very well. Other than that took me 30minutes to point up a fiddly 2m2 fire place. Time saving and easy ensuring all the voids are filled.

Very good for repointing a patio but you have to make sure you are using a very wet mortar mix to ensure it flows. My first few goes were frustrating and I was going to return two of these three unused ones but it was only when I altered my mix following a YouTube video that I had some success. Thereafter they were really good, helped me do a big job really quickly with minimal mess. I recommend them.

Not the best, you pay for what you get and unless you use quite a sloppy mix it blocks up.

Good quality item and, in theory. it sounds like a great idea. However, in practice, it fails miserably. It may be ok with a very smooth grout mix but sand and cement blocks up the nozzle very quickly and attempts to use a wetter mix just results in the sand/cement mix running out of the nozzle.

Works great, depending on your mix you’ll have to cut the opening a bit more. Easy to clean and reuse.

I was using one of the bags I brought the grout up some 20mm bluestone pavers with a 5mm grout gap. Bag was going great until it split open on the seam, started to use another bag and by the end of the grouting that to started to give way at the seam. Area I had to grout was only 60m2 and the pavers were 800mm x 400mm so not that many lines.. bags need to be reinforced along the seams.

Very large bags. The only issue I had was if the mortar a little too thick the bag seam would split under pressure. Keep bags clean after few fill ups to keep mortar easy too use. 3 x bags with tools.

Works as well as all the mortar bags I’ve ever used just clean it after. the jointer it comes with sucks but I’ve used them and for the price it works.
