What If?: Into The Multiverse Omnibus Vol. 1 Review: Great book - Great book. Delivery was great and everything came as promised. Review: A Great Collection - What If series has always been an eclectic collection of stories. Looking at what could have possibly happened to the Marvel Universe if things had gone in another directions is always a double edged sword. I always felt the first series took awhile to realize the potential of what they could do with the series. As none of it affects the mainstream Marvel universe, kill characters, blow up the world, blow up the universe. Do whatever you want. This series understands these concepts right off the bat. Big things happen in these issues. And they only get wilder as it goes on. As the ideas become bigger so do the stories. Halfway through we are introduced to the two issue arc and then a five issue series finale which mixes various others What If stories together- such as What if Wolverine was Lord of the Vampires During Inferno- and so on. As it is essentially an anthology series, quality shifts from issue to issue. A few of the concepts are lame - What if the Avengers Lost during Atlantis Attacks - a crossover series mostly forgotten nowadays. But for the most part I was well entertained by this old series. I had been looking for these for awhile and never thought they would be collected together.

What if.... you didn't read this?
That would be such a shame. Even for casual fans, this is a must read. Growing up in the 80s and being a comics reader/fan, I didn't care much for the What If... series. I had read several issues during the 80s but it wasn't my cup of tea, not like the X-men, FF, Spider-man and the Hulk. However, now that I am in my earlier 50s, reading this omnibus really brought back memories of going to the comic book store or the local pharmacy rack. The What If stories are entertaining and interesting to read. Some of the material won't fly in today's sensitivities but still fun to read. In addition, this is a high quality production. The pages are thick and brilliantly white. The spine is robust. The best part is the dust jacket. The front is a reproduction of the "What if Iron Man had been a traitor?" cover. The back has the covers for the issues included in this volume. For me, comics cover is just as important as the art and story itself. So being able to see all the covers is a fantastic treat. Highly recommended especially for people who grew up in the 80s.

This is a great book π from Marvel , since it collects a bunch really cool π Marvel stories together, and the seller was great. Since it arrived on the it was suppose show up on, and now back the book π that comic book readers. Or anyone who might like paperbacks or graphic novels, since thereβs a really sweet βWhat if β story where the Wolverine joins S.H.E.I.L.D , which was a great read back in the day. And is still a great Wolverine story today. π

Great book if you like What if, main problem is that Omnibus seem to take longer to get delivered

Marvel makes beautiful Omnis & this fun 'What If' is no exception. Would have given a 5 but sadly Amazon continues it's tradition of putting little /to no bubble wrap (none in this case) around an expensive item book & then placing it in an oversized box to jostle around... & as is typical with Amazon, all the corners were bent & impacted.
