Works as intended.
Have had this on my 2016 Chevy Cruze 1.4L turbo (190k miles) for about 8k miles and 7 months. Mainly highway driving done. No issues whatsoever.

Only Lasted 3 Months
Ordered and installed at the end of January 2023. End of April 2023 my child was informing me the engine light was on and a message that AC turned off was showing on dash display. Within a week the water outlet (plastic) blew out and car was towed. After replacing the water outlet (I ordered aftermarket aluminum part) the car would run normal heat while idle but overheat shortly after driving. Ordered and replaced radiator sensor and sensor on water outlet with GM part. Still same outcome. I decided to order another thermostat (found an aluminum part) after reading some of the reviews on this Dorman part. Replaced with competitors thermostat and issue went away. Will be watching closely.

Better off going with AC Delco
SUMMARY: There's a reason that this Dorman Thermostat Housing only has ~52% of reviews at 5 stars. Do yourself a favor and just avoid this one all together. I bought one of these Dorman Thermostat Housings back in March 2019 when the stock one cracked and started leaking. I heard the plastic on the Dorman unit was made better than stock and it didn't crack in the amount of time I had it installed so I guess that's a plus. However, everything else about this thermostat housing is junk. After only a couple months the sensor on the housing went bad and started throwing a check engine light. Then just recently, about 14 months after installing this unit, the thermostat went bad and my engine started overheating. I replaced this with an AC Delco thermostat housing and time will tell if it's better but the reviews here on Amazon are way better on the Delco unit. You might be thinking to yourself, "oh, well 14 months is a good amount of time for this to last. If I only have to replace it once a year that's no big deal." but if you've ever actually replaced one of these on a Chevy Sonic then you probably know that this is one of the biggest PITA parts to replace due to it's location in comparison to the turbo inlet and all of the hard AC lines that you can't just move out of the way. EDIT: 18 Months after this review my AC Delco unit has had ZERO issues. Go with the Delco and forget this Dorman unit.

No Worries on fitment or function. Buy it!
This Coolant Thermostat for the 2012 Chevy Cruze arrived on time (love Prime) and was exactly as expected. It has been on my car for a few (4-6) weeks now and no problems. In fact it fixed the overheating and the Cruze now runs at 225 degrees like a Chevy should. Easy to install and well worth the money. Put this on right before a 4,000 mile trip across the states. I would purchase again.

Awesome. Best I’ve seen so far. I’ve brought aluminium thermostats and dayco, gates and other well known aftermarket parts. But even tho the quality is good you still have to muck around with it. Everyone who knows what I mean why I think Dorman thermostats the best, actually know when they look at it. It’s set correctly

Price still seems a little steep for a GM thermostat, but it installed fine and is working fine with-25c temps
