Adorably efficient apple corer and slicer
This item is an adorable addition to your kitchen gadget collection..... especially if you collect the items from Ototo. I was super surprised at the efficiency of this little toucan apple tool considering it is made of all plastic. The plastic blade works, though, and I feel it makes it a lot safer to use. It makes the most perfect garland of spiraled apple. Storing this is easy as it it is small and easy to not be in the way.

Great for busy parents with young kids
This was a complete impulse buy when I saw it on sale. My child is at the age where I need to cut apple slices pretty small for them to be safe and if they are too thick my child just spits them out. It’s SO frustrating to cut an apple up and then have them only eat part of it before it gets brown. This is a game changer!I can slice just a few spirals and then wait, the rest of the apple stays fresh and I can leave the spiralizer in the apple and just toss the whole thing in a gallon ziplock or onto some paper towels for later. It’s fun to play with spirals so my child tends to eat more apple than before. It also is relatively safe to put in a diaper bag or purse, definitely safer than a knife.Every parent who sees me use it wants one of their own and I’ll be honest, I’m now eating more apple because it’s easy to slice. You need a crisp apple to use it though! Fresh galas and Granny Smith are great. Red delicious are too soft to use effectively. If your apple isn’t crisp it will just mush it up. If you line it up at the top and push on to begin the cut it will core it perfectly.

messy
It’s cute, but a little bit more than halfway through, there’s not enough apple to hold onto to keep turning. Also, a bit messy because of the juice. I might use it for pies because I could get uniform pieces, but not sure I’d use it much otherwise.

Great tool but...there's a learning curve
I see this and immediately wanted to get this Nevada my 10 year old refuses to bite apples and they have apples in school. I thought this would be great for her to use in school as is made of plastic however, she had trouble gripping it so for her it's still somewhat of an issue. So she still chooses to use a spork to cut into her apples in school. Maybe by the time she's 14 she'll have the grip & dexterity to use it. 😆 🤣 😂

Cute apple slicer
This is a very cute product. It works ok but it will not replace my apple coring gadget. Fun to use on occasion.

Easy to use and fun for a snack on the go.
I took this camping and ended up cutting all the apples I brought. Even the adults thought it was a fun way to eat apples. Kids were asking for apples and ignored the cookies and chips! It took a few tries to get the technique right, but no one complained about eating a bunch of apple rings.

Just did not cut an apple efficiently...
I SOOOO wanted to like this product, but it just doesn't work well. Very cumbersome. Did not cut even slices. Really awkward to use. I love so many of the Ototo products, but this one is worthless. Bummer.

Just buy it already :)
I bought this because I love the smaller slices of apples, but can't have the larger old school peeler in the RV. I wasn't sure if this would actually work. It does. Some people complain that it doesn't get to the end. I did *not* find this to be the case. Start at the bottom of the apple, not the top. That gives you more grip for the process. Go slow and you get the entire apple cored and sliced. And then it's super easy to cut the skin off as everything is still pretty lined up.
