LADIES! These are not just for men! Great spats for jiu jitsu! The best I have owned.
It mystifies me that these are not 50$ spats because they are far beyond the quality of most 50$+ spats I have owned. I recommend them to all the ladies I teach as they aren't see through when you bend over, the knees don't wear out like most spats, and they fit incredibly (that's saying a lot being a woman with curves!). The reinforced crotch is also a huge plus because that's one of the first places that tears in most spats. I have three pairs, I bought the latter two after receiving the first one and realizing how good they were -I've had mine for 9 months and there are no signs of major wear besides slight fuzziness on the knees on one pair that I have worn more often. Ladies: I am 5'4, 155 lbs, curvy hourglass shape - the men's medium tights fit perfect. This size chart is from their website and it worked for me (I have a 29" waist) Size Waist X-Small 24 - 25 Small 26 - 27 Medium 28 - 29 Large 30.5 - 32 X-Large 33.5 - 35 XX-Large 35 - 37 If that's not enough to convince you, ask Rigan Machado who proudly sports Sanabul products! Don't let the price fool you! These are AMAZING!!

Pick these.
Great fit. Feels great. Feels sturdy. Perfect for No Gi BJJ or wrestling but I would say it’s great as long-johns in the winter or perhaps a crisp jog. Price is great too.

WOW!!!
These feel so awesome that I wanted to write a review as soon as I put them on. Definitely buy these! I've had these on my wishlist for a very long time, and finally made the purchase. I'm 6',2.5" @ 190 lbs., usually wear a size 34w x 34l in Dockers, for example, and for these Sanabul spats I chose size Medium. I have ectomorph body type with a small but definite beer gut. They fit spectacularly. These feel luxurious. I can hardly wait to train JJ in these. I'm probably building them up too much, and now that you've read this, they won't feel so luxurious. But at least you will probably be satisfied. Probably proper sizing will have an effect. I had a couple pair of regular running spats that I'd gotten from discount stores, but not made for grappling. I finally bought a pair of Gracie Triangle Spats-XLarge. I'm 6'2.5" @ 190lbs. The Gracie University store website said Rener and Ryron 6'4" and wear a size Large, but I get claustrophobic/overly-sensitive to clothing, so I bought the XL. After seeing some of the other guys in my JJ class wearing snug spats, and how they fit, but also thinking that more stretch might cause the material to thin out a bit, feel lighter and thus feel more comfortable, I started trying smaller sizes. So, I bought the Anthem HELO-X spats in Medium, which in some ways fit good, but I need to try them in Large. The Anthem spats are designed to fight hardcore without shorts on. They have a drawstring, but also have a thin band of material that totally stops stretching at a certain point. There's no way they'll come off in a real fight. That point of maximum stretch happens to be barely enough for me to even get them on. This is also true of the cuff. The cuff maxes out at a pretty small diameter, and I have to be careful putting my foot through, so as not to rip them. I should have bought them in Large, however: The Anthems are just slightly loose above the ankle, and don't hug the bottom of my leg. It's kind of weird that the cuff is so tight, yet the section directly above it has slack. The Sanabuls hug very well from waist to cuff, to give a bit more of that second skin feel than the Anthems. The Anthems certainly hug almost all over, like a second skin, given that they are smaller than the recommended size, but they don't feel as luxurious as the Sanabuls. And by the way, don't be thrown off by the word luxurious. These are bona-fide grappling spats. They are more substantial than regular fitness spats. I've only owned them for a few minutes, but they feel like they are designed to take the abrasion of grappling, and guard against rash. I will definitely be buying more of these. In fact, although I will be buying one size up & one size down, just to see how they vary. They really feel stretchy enough to be comfortable & fit well at different amounts of compression. Also: I bought grey. I light the satin finish reflects light & shadows just like what I was hoping for. The waist band is surprisingly comfortable, given that I bought smaller than recommended size, and have a bit of a belly.

Good but not recommended for no gi BJJ
I bought these to use under my shorts for BJJ. They feel good and fit well but are not thick enough for extended no gi BJJ. The fabric will eventually wear though. It will work fine under a gi but with gi and rolling, knee downs, etc. it will wear through sooner than something specified for BJJ use.

Compression feels great.
Top quality company! I’m beginning to really love sanabul. My sons gi is exceptional and these spats rival any of the big names and it’s affordable for those who are on a budget. I was wavering between a medium and a large. I’m 5’7’’ 171 and have a 32.5 inch waist. I went with medium and it’s a tiny bit tight on the waist but the legs feel very comfortable. I wasn’t sure if large would give me enough compression.

Does not give me legs like in the picture. :(
I was really hoping this would turn my fat, flabby dad bod into something approximating the picture. Sorry. Especially sorry if you have to see me rolling in the dojo, and more-so if you are rolling with me. Needless to say, I better not post a picture with this review. I'm about 192lb, 5'10". My flab is chest/belly, but my legs and arms are decent, so I ordered a large. It is quite comfortable, with a nice amount of snugness that does require me to put it on like tights (pull onto ankles first, then work up). Fits fine over a cup. It has an almost magical cooling ability. Instantly drops my temperature so I feel like there are no tights on, to be honest. I was also very pleased to find it did not seem to have issues with static cling. That may change with a wash or two, but I hope not. It feels a bit like wearing underwear on the outside, which I'm not really a fan of, but I guess I'll get used to that, and wearing fight shorts over them helps with that.

Great for the price.
The one negative is that since I am a female, there’s some sagging in the crotch area; I’d imagine a man will have adequate room for their junk. I only bought these to wear under my gi so it’s all good but I certainly don’t walk around in them without my gi bottoms.
