Gran Turismo 7 (PS5)

I bought this right back in March 2022 played a for a few hours and gave up on it. I’ve recently got back into gaming and wanted a racing game so I reinstalled it. I watched a video on YouTube that walked me through the UI, the Cafe system etc. it’s not rocket science but it’s good to have everything explained. I then put a few hours in each night and began to work my way through the cafe menus. Once you start to unlock the better cars the game really does reward you. It’s a fantastic game. I just play with the controller. The handling is superb, each car loving recreated. My only complaints are I think it would be good to have a damage model and some of the music is a bit poor. I also think it would be nice to qualify for the races but this are minor quibbles in the grand scheme. It’s five stars all the way though. If you’re prepared to put some time in you’ll be rewarded with hours of brilliant racing. Highly recommended. A new spec 3 update is coming December 2025 with two new tracks and I think five new cars. Cant ask for much more.

This game was so good, I brought it for myself again. This time to keep! But honestly a staple for all your gaming needs

Title sums it up. Graphically and the engine sounds and handling are truly incredible, the sheer detail of all the cars is something to behold. Full career mode where you customise and tune cars is back with a Big Bang. It’s classic Gran Tourismo but even better. The cons are that the installation of the disc game is ludicrously long. I have high speed fibre and it took 7 hours all in all, I’ve read on the internet that there’s a bug causing it to be overly slow so I expect that to be fixed. Another negative is the lack of latest car models (or ones within the last 2 years) which is disappointing but these are expected to come as a future update. It really is a brilliant game though. For those who haven’t played Gran Tourismo before please be aware it’s a racing sim not and arcade racer so needs practice to get good at but when you do it delivers the best driving game of all time. The depth of the game is huge with all the tuning and used car markets. Ignore the micro transaction options and you’ll enjoy it so much more. The dynamic weather and time of day is also incredible. It’s absolutely brilliant but has a couple of frustrations mainly the long installation time.

It's a Gran Turismo game. That's always a good thing. And there's fun to be had and some challenges to overcome, such as the traditional last license test. Everything looks beautiful. The changing weather and time of day completely changes the lightning of tracks, and they look stunning. The cars are incredibly detailed, inside and out, so you can get some amazing photos. A few old tracks and everything from GT Sport means there's good racing choices. But there are issues... Some people weren't happy with the pricing and how much could be earned from racing. I seem to remember all GT games having a grinding element to get the top cars, so it didn't bother me. This has now been fixed with a patch and it's possibly now too easy to make money. I'm sure it will balance in time. Speaking of balance, the BoP seems to be broken, so some cars have massive advantages over others. This has slightly broken the online racing unless you're in the correct car. Tuning was allowed as well, but the Power Point system didn't balance properly, so once again certain cars and/or tunes had a big advantage. Oh, and the handling is VERY oversteer happy, so use Traction Control. I'm sure it will all get fixed through patches, and I've enjoyed my time with the game so far. I'd recommend it, as long as you're aware that one month after its release it still has a lot of issues to be fixed.

Speedy delivery of an excellent product.

Firstly I can't believe how many people are giving this 1 star just because they don't have the patience to wait to download or watch an intro. It's crazy to rate a game before you actually play it! Granted it took me about a day and a half for a 90gb update as I can't get fibre but it was worth the wait. Parts of the game unlock as you go along so it's not all available but it doesn't take too long. I've been playing for about 2 hours a day for about 5 days and just unlocked what I believe is the last area on the map. The racing itself is amazing and you do have to concentrate as there's no kids reverse button like on Forza if you mess up!! Love the license and mission challenges. Their tricky to get the gold but good fun to beat your mates times. You do get given loads of cars throughout the game for winning challenges and races but alot still need to be bought and they do cost alot of credits. Haven't tried the online yet but it does look good and people get bad ratings if they constantly push people off track so really it should be decent racing!
