What's the radius or diameter of one of these magnets?

I had similar but slightly different measurements, so it appears that the measurements vary between batches. I had a diameter of 5.93mm or 0.234in and a thickness of 2.52mm or 0.101in

Will these rust outside ?

Mine have not rusted. I have them a while.

What size drill bit to fit these in wood or metal?

They are 5mm. There is 25.4mm in an inch. 3/16th is 4.7625mm. 1/4" is 6.35mm So these would be a little big for 3/16th bit, and a little small for a 1/4". Here's an idea, go back to elementary school math class or buy a set of metric bits. OMG.

Will this work for a flag stand? ours wont close so before i purchase i wanna make sure.

I am not sure since I don't know how big the flag stand is. However, these magnets are very strong for its size, they will attach to each other from three/four inches apart when set on counter top. Hope this help.
