lifetime professional mechanic / tool snob here. Bought these for a backup set mainly for farm use. Completely satisfied. Sockets are loaded with decent features , well marked , well designed and outstanding carrying case with 2 metal main latches that will never break off and 2 additional plastic latches on the sides. Case would take up a little extra space in a tool box but excellent for road service or transporting. GW took a page from what tools trucks call "flank-drive" and these sockets are called " surface drive" as to not put pressure on corners of nut/bolts to risk rounding corners. I purchased Neiko Deep sockets to go with the shallow sockets. the Dear wrench set was 4 pc larger but more than twice the price . These are much nicer than the Nieko in finish , carrying case ,and the fact the the GW smaller sockets are machines to be less bulky on the business end but the Nieko are not machined and slightly bulky. That being said, I doubt I can break any socket from either brand doing medium / heavy duty repairs with high powered 1/2 inch drive impact guns . These Gear Wrench Sockets should perform and function as well as any tool truck impact sockets.
