I've been a fan of Preciva tools for a while now, and these don't disappoint . These crimpers are well machined and very precise. They come with a lot (1200) ferrules from 22-10 AWG. I personally can't see needing anything larger than 10, or smaller than 22 for what I do.In the video I crimped both a 22 and 10 gauge wire. No way could I pull either off, -they are solid! I had a full-size ratcheting set before (they got lost), but I much prefer this smaller size. The Preciva non-ratcheting design is so much easier to use. I hated the ratcheting on my old ones, and this smaller design just feel good in the hand. There is still plenty of leverage, so repetitive crimps are easy to do.I mainly use ferrules for power supplies (3D printers, mini cnc machine, etc.) and circuit board screw terminals. For power supplies ferrules offer strain relief like ring and spade connectors, but I have seen ring and spade crimps fail under load. Ferrules also grip a lot more wire surface area. For PCB screw terminals there is really no other option other than bare wire or solder (neither is a good idea). If you like to tinker, you do need these.Like all my other Preciva crimpers, calipers, and other tools the fit, finish, and usability is fantastic. They are very well made and there is no wobble or play. At the end of the video I show a closeup of the movement. I expect I will be using these for many years to come, and I highly recommend adding these to your electronic tool arsenal.

This tool is great for terminating stranded wire to terminals. No more single strands of copper sticking out from the terminal. I was always worried that these strands could short out to other terminals. The crimp tool makes great crimps every time with little effort. This crimper is smaller than most others, making it easier to use in a control panel. It comes with a huge selection of crimp ends. Also the kit comes with its own case that keeps the crimps and the tool all in one place.

I’m really happy with this purchase. I do a fair amount of low voltage wiring for hobbies and I’ve long been finishing my ends with solder. This tool gives me another option at a really affordable price. I was really surprised and pleased with the quality of the construction - it has a solid feel in the hand and crimps with a satisfying precision. The included ferrules were a nice touch and they are reasonably well made too. All in, this is a great tool for the hobbyist or homeowner and should last you a lifetime under regular use.

Works great for screw type terminal blocks. Made my projects cleaner and more presentable to look at! It includes all the type of ferrules you'll needs in any small home electrical projects and the case is a nice touch!
