Does this heater switch on and off automatically once it reaches the set temperature?

Yes, it seems too. Once it reaches the temperature it’s been set on then it adjusts accordingly… these are such good heaters, warm up quickly, really efficient and clean, well worth the money 😜

Please be clear on the ad subject , is this oil filled or oil free ?

Thank you for your enquiry, this is stating that it is the oil free version, there are oil filled radiators that are similar, you would need to check the description as it will confirm this

How close can it be to a wall?

How heavy is the heater? What length is the cable?

The cable is 1.8 metres. The weight is advertised as 10.4 (although on the Dimplex site it is 10.2). However, I did not lift it far, I just slid the box. It was quite easy lifting it from box and after that, once the wheels are attached, it just glides, so problem. You could probably lay it on it's side to gently slide it from box if you felt unable to lift it. It's not as heavy as oil filled versions.
