The remote does turn the TV on and off the only other key that functions is the setting key, you can press it, and it will bring up the settings, but you can't scroll to anything, so none of the other functions work, not even the home key. The biggest problem with this remote, is it doesn't have codes that you put in, I'm sure if you put codes in with this remote, it would work depending on your style TV. It should have codes that come with it so that you can program it to your TV. It does have instructions I that I am showing in the picture/video i took with remote. These are all the instructions. You pretty much put the batteries in, and turn your TV off, turn your TV on. And it says it's paired in with your TV. It takes more than that to pair a remote to a TV. You have to put codes, etc. Yeah, they need to work on that function. I followed their instructions also. Very disappointed. I have an LG TV 3D so I just had to replace it for $87. But at least I know it works. Now have to send this one back. What a waste of time and money.

Love the remote for our older 65inch LG UM8500. Just be sure to do de-register on the NEW remote (not the old remote), the register it with the wheel button. Will work like a champ!

Works perfect with my 2014 65 LG. When it arrived just the volume input and power worked. But then I unpaired the remote and repaired it then every feature worked…

Remote worked fine for a few days then = didn't work at all. We needed to remove the batteries and put them back in & it worked for 2-3 days = died. Then removing & replacing batteries made no difference. Best recommendation = don't buy this one!

The remote was delivered quickly, works great (after pairing), and is priced accordingly. I would recommend this remote to anyone whose original remote took a nose dive as did mine...

I was really hoping this would work but had to return. After pairing (pressing back and home button at the same time) and then unpairing a few times, I received the message on the top right of the screen which let me know it was not the right remote model. Only some of the buttons worked. I went to ebay and found the exact LG remote. all good now.

I only gave it two stars because the magic remote features work with it (more or less). It was hard to find a remote that did. Otherwise it is problematic. -The buttons don’t fit right and they often stick down. -The mouse wheel is so sensitive that it is very difficult to do anything that involves typing text with the onscreen keyboard, or pressing the mouse wheel button. -It frequently quits working and the batteries need to be taken out and put back in. -It eats batteries. They only last a couple of weeks. In the original remote, they lasted months.

Not all the buttons on the remote work therefore I needed to buy a new one in order to replace the one that I purchased. Junk go to JB hi-fi. Save your money
