Much Better
This was a very pleasant surprise. I have tried it before but don't reall what the flavor, texture, smell, etc. was about i. Like I said, it was quite a while back. I did order a few months ago some big jars of whey protien by Body Fortress and I must say, yuck!!! The smell was less than desirabe, the texture was gritty like sand paper. Very coarse and not well recieved by my tummy. I feel like it swelled times two and was extremely uncomfrtable. I have tried to give i away and I cannot find anyone who will take it. The EAS however was much better. No grit, no awful aftertaste, no foul smell and smooth. I've recently had a "wieght loss" surgery and the EAS protien was a very good find.Sincerely, Tina Aguilera.

Has a terrible smell to it
Has a terrible smell to it. I usually buy the Trader Joe's brand of same product which does not have the same chemical smell.

What's with all the sugar?
Why does it need 17 grams of sugar? Maybe it will come in handy if you make smoothies out of kale, soybeans, & wheat germ, but mine are mostly fruit, & it makes them sweeter than they need to be. It also has 170 calories per serving (because of the sugar?) and no fiber. I much prefer the same company's Lean 15 Protein Powder, which has 15 grams of protein per serving instead of 20, but also has 4 grams of sugar, 100 calories, and 5 grams of fiber. I find that the vanilla cream flavor gives a nice twist to the fruit smoothie without being overly intrusive. Both products say, "Get lean and toned," but I think I will get there faster without the extra sugar.

Great taste, healthy-ish but way too much sugar
I like that this doesn't contain any of those artificial sweeteners and an unhealthy amount of cholesterol. It tastes more like an ice cream shake than a protein shake but this is seriously sweeter than it needs to be. I think I'm on my way to diabetes if I drink this regularly.

A good product, with a bad problem (for me, anyway) .....
This is great soy protein powder. I have used soy protein powder for many decades in smoothies, etc. and this one tastes fine and mixes in really well. However, there must be some component in it that makes it affect my .... uh, regularity, shall we say, because a few days after I started using it I really had a problem! And I eat lots and lots of fiber in my diet, and even that didn't help. So I had to, reluctantly, stop using this protein powder. It may not affect other folks this way, but it sure affected me! So, five stars for being a good product, one star for digestibility = three stars overall. If you are going to use this, you may want to add some ground flaxseed meal to help with the fiber content of your smoothie or protein shake.

Very tasty when mixed with soy
As a new ish protein powder user, this is not nearly as bad as I had anticipated. Every one had a protein powder horror story for me, so I went into the first sip prepared to not like it. Surprise!! I liked it!!I have tried most of the formulations they recommend: I think this product is too grainy with dairy milk and too thin & grainy with water.Perfect with soy milk. Almost as good with cashew/almond milk. I used 1 scoop and 8 -10 ounces in a shaker and it was like drinking a vanilla cake batter shake. So tasty!!

41% SWEETNER
This product is almost 1/2 sweetner. In effect, you are paying almost double the price for the amount of protien you get. (retail = $17.77 per lb. of actual protein). It is laden with fructose and tastes sweeter than candy. You might as well drink high fructose corn syrup, since each 50g serving of protien contains about the same amount of sugars as drinking a can of popular cola, i.e. 42.5g fructose = 169 calories. With so much sweetner, this product is far more difficult to digest than plain bulk 100% SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE powder, from Bob's Red Mill, here on Amazon for $11.87 per pound of actual protein (or $10.22 in the 7 lb. pack); or go to the bulk section of your local healthy food store. HappyCow has a good list. Winco sells Bob's Red Mill Soy Protein Powder in bulk for about $5 per lb. (about $6.50 per lb. of actual protein), and it is non-GMO.As described in 1993 by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition:Most of the metabolic effects of fructose are due to its rapid utilization by the liver and it by-passing the phosphofructokinase regulatory step in glycolysis, leading to far reaching consequences to carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. These consequences include immediate hepatic increases in pyruvate and lactate production, activation of pyruvate dehydrogenase, and a shift in balance from oxidation to esterification of nonesterified fatty acids, resulting in increased secretion of very-low-density-lipoprotein (VLDL). These effects are augmented by long-term absorption of fructose, which causes enzyme adaptations that increase lipogenesis and VLDL secretion, leading to triglyceridemia, decreased glucose tolerance, and hyperinsulinemia. Acute loading of the liver with fructose causes sequestration of inorganic phosphate in fructose-1-phosphate and diminished ATP synthesis. Consequently, the inhibition by ATP of the enzymes of adenine nucleotide degradation is removed and uric acid formation accelerates with consequent hyperuricemia.
