Works well
The carbide coating is on both sides of the blade and overall it looks like good quality carbide. I've only used it on a few cuts so far but the blade still looks like new. I imagine it'll last a while. If you're not familiar with Starlock blades, they are a quick-release mount blade primarily designed to be used on Starlock mount tools. However you can use these blades on most other non Starlock oscillating tools. Some tools may require an adapter which Bosch sells. If you buy an oscillating tool that has a Starlock mount please note you can only use Starlock blades, you will not be able to use your non Starlock blades on a Starlock tool. If you currently own a non Starlock oscillating tool and plan to buy a Starlock tool at some point in the future, then you might want to consider buying Starlock blades for your current tool, that way you can still use them later on when you buy a Starlock mount equipped tool.

excellent tool for sanding wood in tight spaces
The carbide grit coating is only on the bottom of the sanding finger, but it works exceptionally well on wood surfaces. The wood fibers will cake on the tool, requiring periodic cleaning to maintain sanding effectiveness, but this is to be expected, and only takes half a minute, or less, to clean. If Bosch made these in multiple grits, I would buy one of each. I have no experience using this tool for any other application, so I can't make any recommendation for use on anything other than wood.

Easy to keep in the grout
Does what it claims. Has a thin blade so I've no problems keeping in the grout lines of the shower tiling I am working on.

Time and labor saver
I used it to clean in between tiles before grouting , and to cut cement board , it was useful in both cases .

Works great with my Rigid multi tool
Great for getting hard to reach cracks when stripping my deck! I ordered two more just in case, but after 6 hours of use there is minimal wear considering I accidentally ran into some nails. It would be awesome if they made more variations in Grit and length, but it does the trick I need it to for now.

If you are looking for a tool that will make clean cuts in drywall this is the one!
I do a lot of small ceiling repairs due to water damage from leaking pipes and for these jobs where the house in occupied and full of furniture its very important to be able to make a clean cut with minimal dust. Using this blade I can make a nice clean cut just as fast as I can make a sloppy cut with a hand saw while leaving the paper undamaged and making much less dust.Have not done a shower pan since purchasing, but I have both this blade and the diamond blade so I will report back on ceramic tile when I get the opportunity.

If it gums up you can clean it!
The usual hook/loop sanding heads were too big for the area I was working, so I thought I'd give this a shot. It's a great size for a narrow space, and best of all, when it got gunked up I cleaned it off with laquer thinner and it was as good as new. Project completed, finger cleaned and ready for next time.

Potential quality control issues... Still might do the job
The first blade I purchased back in January was awesome- it performed well for what I expected of it and had an amazing price (about $5 at the time). I recently purchased another 3 for the same use- using these to make cut outs in older plaster walls with button board behind the plaster (possibly buildings from the 50's) for retrofitting new electrical boxes. The first blade cut through the plaster amazingly well whereas it ate metal blades alive, and allowed me to get amazing results with tight tolerances for the blue carlon retrofit boxes- saving on any plaster patching common with using jagged drywall knives in plaster. There may be some quality control issues, at the moment, however as I purchased 3 more blades two days ago and where my original blade made it through at least 30 cut outs before being rendered... dull enough to cause the plaster to begin shattering out, the first blade began to lose large chunks of the carbide grit on the first hole. My original blade made it at least 15 holes before I noticed a slight wearing at the corners of the blade (which is to be expected in my opinion due to how the blade operates side to side). I have contacted Bosch and don't intend to use the other 2 recently purchased blades until I see if I received a defective batch of blades or if it's to be expected and the first order was just beyond expectations. Will edit review accordingly based on their response.

Tremendously effective and long lasting.
Fantastic product. I burnt out multiple rotary carbide grout bits on one shower without putting a dent in even one line. I removed all of the grout from an entire 32”x60” shower, with a tile ceiling with only 1 blade. It cleaned well into the corners and to the base with no damage. You must be careful though as the crust on the blade is diamond and will cut the glaze and tile itself quite easily. I highly recommend this product
