SOMA Inflatable Ball is Highly Effective and Versatile
I am very happy, and my body is so relieved, to have discovered SOMA System tools and exercises. With use of the SOMA tools, I’ve noticed a huge release in tension through my body, especially in my neck, shoulders and hips and I’ve felt more refreshed. I have been teaching Pilates for several years and all of my clients, and myself, have muscle tension in some part of our bodies. My own neck and shoulder tension has been at times so bad as to result in headaches. When exercising, this tension limits efficiency of motion and range of motion. I’ve used other myofascial release tools in the past, such as large foam rollers, for myself and clients, but the large sizes and shapes of those products limited their effectiveness. In contrast, the Soma System includes a variety of tools in various shapes, sizes, firmness and texture which can be used to truly target muscles and fascia in a way I haven’t been able to do before. One of my favorite Soma System tools is one of the simplest and easiest to use: the inflatable massage ball. My clients really like this too. I like using this ball to relax the shoulder blades and pectoral muscles and muscles in the hip and thigh areas before a workout. Using the massage ball together with the SOMA Roller Squad for the chest release exercises feels great and increases the efficiency of the exercise. After working with the ball, my clients and I are more relaxed, can move much more freely and so can get more out of a Pilates session. Also, I’ve found the SOMA System Exercise Book very helpful. The book includes clear instructions for many release exercises for the whole body. It also provides basic anatomy education before each exercise set so that you can properly locate the area you will work on and do the exercise correctly.

Perfect myofascial self-massage tool!
Recieved this quick, it was even delievered on a Sunday morning! Ive tried tennis balls before and they would break, roll away a lot, cause discomfort- more hassle than anything! I was surprised by this Soma ball because it has some give to it- but found it rolled through my muscles comfortably with enough pressure I could still hit 'the spot' :). I used to pole dance but injured my shoulder and have had constant pain since, so it's relieving I was able to roll this ball over all my knotted up muscle groups without causing pain afterwards (and more damage!). The size is perfect, fits in my palm and easy to grab and move.. It is self inflated so it squishes a bit, but that helps ease of movement with the ball! It is small enough to travel with, unlike a foam roller or even a yoga matt, and the bright orange helps it stand out in 'a mess' ;). I just used this for 20 or so minutes and feel like I good deep tissue massage, no assistance but the ball and myself, and a little bit of floor space. I'm relatively fit so it's easy to hold my core strength to use this for a while, but while I did each shoulder I would hold up the oposite arm with my hand behind/ lightly holding up my head. Then I could roll it in small circles down my neck and over my the top then bsck over my shoulder, then down the spine and to the other side. Relax afterwards and drink plenty of water. I will be intrerested in trying other Soma System products after this great first experience!

Makes self bodywork pleasurable.
Teaching Pilates for 8 years puts demand on the physical body. I find this tool to be very effective in making self bodywork very pleasurable with it's extreme give. I am constantly looking for ways to open my chest to stand in excellent posture with more ease. I learned to use this ball in a Soma Systems class online to create a stretch in the tight tissues of my chest as well as in front of my shoulders while lying on the ball. Using the Foam Roller: Easy to carry around, Great Self-massage and Self-myofascial Release Tool, Foot, Thigh, Hips and Back Massager to create a supported upper back bend after a treatment with the Gentle Massage Ball created a complete and lasting benefit of massage followed by stretching. I am loving the Soma Systems approach that I was introduced to a Pilates conference workshop a few weeks ago. I am excited to learn more.

Such a great tool!!
The Soma System massage ball is awesome! I've been personal training for about a year now and it is an extremely beneficial tool. Because of its size and shape, the ball can be used to release areas of the body that a foam roller cannot. I use it regularly as I have tight hip flexors and it has greatly improved my mobility. The ball has enough give that it is able to reach the deep hip flexors and is soft enough that it isn't painful. This though is only one of the many ways you could use it. You can adjust the amount of air within the ball to increase/decrease the firmness of it as well to fit your needs. Just an overall awesome product!

Great for myofascial release
These balls are quite nice. I am using them for myofascial release. Mine arrived perfectly inflated. I haven’t had to re-inflate yet. But the inexpensive ball pump (not included) is easy to use

Perfect size and density to comfortable stretch and pinpoint areas of tension throughout my body!
I didn't know what to expect with using a softer ball for self massage and muscle release and it turns out to be the best I've used. I am able to find places of tension and spend a lot more time rolling and working the area with this ball because it's soft and comfortable. Because of this it feels like its help to stretch the fascia and muscle and create a sense of relief from specific spots of tension. Favorite spots to work with this so far are rhomboids, pecs, low back, and calves. I am feeling empowered to keep body body healthy, comfortable, and happy with a variety of the SOMA System tools and am very grateful I found them. Empower yourself for great health!
