Log Tongs Logging Skidding Tongs Non-Slip Grip- Log Lifting, Handling, Dragging & Carrying Tool (16 in)

This is a fine tool. Men(ok, others too) get this and a hookeroon. I chose Fiskars.I hold tongs in left, hook in right. I can lift 40-50lb. with ease. No strain to my back.Yes, you should tighten a bit, but only a little. Handle seems good. You should sharpen points.

Due to the cheaper price as compared to the “timber tuff” log tongs, I decided to try these ones out despite some poor reviews. My timber tuff log tongs I saw the same poor review of the handle on and thought it might be the same situation. While on the timber tuff log tongs I can pull off the handle, it takes work and is not easy, I have not had it come off while carrying a log. With this one I feel that outcome is inevitable and was thinking about making a handle for it on my lathe that I could then glue on... but then I was thinking about it and I decided why should I have to, just to make it safe and easier to use.The points are about the same as the timber tough, and don’t notice a major difference between the two in ability to grab a log, maybe a small difference at most. As someone else said in a different review it has a fair amount of slop in the hinges compared to my timber tuff, but with that said you can just tighten the bolts so its really a moot point. At the end of the day I decided I have too many projects that I actually want to do that making a handle for a tool that came with a handle isn’t one I want to make time for. In the end I’m returning this and just going to pay the extra couple bucks and just get a second timber tuff log tong.

what a back saver overall...great tool, beats bending over too much to pick up round awkward logs! little flimsy buy works.

Bought these to move some wood around. Can't complain about them. They work well. Could be a little better constructed, but for the money, they're a good value. I'd definitely buy them again.

Overall, the tongs work, but work best for wood above 6" diameter. I needed to sharpen the teeth on my bench grinder, tighten the nuts on them, and needed to glue handle onto the bar. Seems to work as advertised though.

Easy to use, with a little practice. Don't just lift on the handle, twist it to shift weight from one tong to the other and you'll find you can toss logs with little effort. Others complain about the slack in the joints, so get a wrench and tighten them. That's going to be needed from time to time, so doing it before first use is no big deal. Oil, Tighten, Lift.

Saves my back. Makes it so much easier to picking up and move logs. gonna get another one.
