Might not work well for long fingers
The 3-7 year old size does not fit my 4 year old well. My daughter is tall for her age and has long fingers. The thumb guard is a little snug on her and irritates the base of her thumb. The nylon wrist strap fits fine, it's the silicone straps on her hand that are problematic for her. The silicone thumb guard causes her thumb to sweat at night and I'm worried about skin break down where the guard rubs on her thumb. The good thing is that she cannot remove it herself. However, she came running into my room at 3am begging for me to take it off because it was hurting her. When I removed it, she had a large red sore on the heel of her thumb. I will say that the quality is great. I like that it is made of a soft silicone and I like that she cannot remove it herself at night. However, I wish Dr. Thumb came in a larger size. I have considered tucking some gauze under the part of the silicone that is rubbing on her hand. Just wanted to let parents know that the product might not work if your child has long fingers. I will try placing Dr. Thumb over gloves to see if that helps.

Worked within 1-2 weeks. Amazing
This worked for both my boys ages 5 and 7. We had tried just about everything i could think of to quit but got nowhere. The boys both wanted to quit but just didnt know how. We got 2 of the devices, one for each kid. They wore them most of the time for about a week except while in school. They kept telling me that they quit and didnt feel like sucking any more but i kept them on for a few more days anyway. They did not like wearing the device but we bribed them with toys for keeping it on. That worked. Perhaps they quit sucking just so they would not have to wear it anymore. When they got to stop wearing it we had them put on a bandaid as a reminder. I really dont care why it worked. But it worked for us! They could wiggle the thumbs out if they really wanted so if you have a kid that is older and really not ready to quit it may not work but it is relatively inexpensive so i feel like its worth a try. I wish i had done this when the kids were 1 or 2 years old.

worth a try!
I bought this product w/ my own money. the company is not paying me to do a review. I've used this product with my 3 in a half yr old son. At first I bought the small size but it didn't fit and was extremely tight on his hand so I sent it back and got the large size. day one of use he did not want to wear it (of course) and kept trying to take it off. I had a talk with him and after that he didn't try to take it off. the first night was hard, he woke up in the middle of the night begging to take the product off (so beware the first day and night is the hardest) with that being said, he has now had it own for almost a week and no thumb sucking has occurred! I only take it off for bath time and then put it back on. everyday I am seeing progress where he won't even lift his thumb to put in his mouth! I've tried everything, even the yucky stuff that goes on like nail polish but it didn't work and made him sick. dr thumb has been working so far and I will leave another review after the recommended 3-4weeks of use

worked for a short time, but too soft/stretchy
worked for a little while, but then our 3-year-old son figured out how to stretch it out and pull his thumb out. i tightened it, tried shortening the side straps, and even cut a new slot to make the thumb "sleeve" even tighter to the wrist, but he kept getting out of it. it can't go any tighter without cutting off circulation to his hand, so this isn't working for us. perhaps if it were made out of a harder rubber so that it couldn't be stretched, it would work, but with this soft silicone, it's too stretchy and our son can easily get out of it. it's not because it's too big - his thumb barely has any space between it and the thumb guard, and the tip of his thumb sticks out about 1/4" past the end of the guard.

No more thumb sucker
Hi this definitely worked my daughter was a hard core thumb sucker. After visiting the dentist and a hard winter of sickness I was ready for my 31/2 year old to quit.I have alot to say about this product. It was a hate love relationship. I don't know if the device worked but the threat of putting it on did.My daughter hated wearing it and I just thought it was so cruel to make her wear it at night but the process would not of worked if she did not.She could get it off and still suck her thumb no matter how tight I made it. But making it tight worried me and she did not like being uncofortable. So after about 4 days she learned to get her thumb out the whole process took about 2 months but she quit because of the threat of putting it on. Then she started having trouble sleeping and that took about a year to fix if it not one thing it's another. But it eventually worked 😉

Delicate silicone material and weak strap
I have purchased this product after comparing couple of different products.Initially thought of buying 2 for left and right hand of my 6 years kid. As it is expensive want to try 1 piece and go for other hand later. It is made of silicone, very flexible material. So flexible that 1 1/2 year or 2 year old kid can easily pull the cover out of thumb using other hand.Straps are so week, locking clip broken at very first attempt by my kid, Still I tied with knot trying to use. My kid keeps the Thumb cover in tact when we are watching and pulls off (just the cover) and sucks the thumb when we are not watching, without taking the strap off.Unless your kid is below 1 year old don't waste money on this product
