Some of the best NMOs that I’ve dealt with
In dealing with emergency equipment and wireless control, I deal with NMO antenna mounts on a regular basis (both permanent and mag mounts). I must say, Larsen NMO mounts are by far some of the best that I’ve used. The quality is nice and the cable (wire) isn’t cheap garbage.I do have a couple suggestions though for people using this.1. Use dielectric grease (silicone grease) on the o-ring (bottom of the screw ring that touches the car/electrical box) and2. Use a couple of drops of blue, medium strength, thread locker on the ring threads before you put things together and tighten them down.3. Put some dielectric grease in the cup of the antenna and on the antenna o-ring before you install it on the mount. This will help keep moisture out, help prevent rust and it will also help keep the NMO ring from unscrewing and staying in the antenna base/cup when you remove the antenna.

Larsen quality
If I'm going to blow a hole in the roof of my new truck and go through the trouble tearing it apart to run the cable I'm going to get the best available. The mount is well made and good to 6gig. The cable is double shielded (foil & tinned braid) with a solid copper center conductor. The "O" ring has lube on it out of the package so additional was not needed. Just make a clean 3/4" hole (I use a bit just for these mounts), drop it in and tighten. I do put a little di-electric grease on the antenna threads so when it does need to come off it won't bind with the mount's nut. This does NOT come with a connector. Performance is great with my old (third vehicle) Larsen NMO 2/70 and Yaesu FT-8800.

Larsen is one of the best
NMO mounts used to be more plentiful. Now you have fewer choices. Tram, Larsen, and some odd ball ones that don't require a 3/4 hole, but a 3/8 hole. As someone who switches out vehicles every couple years here in the salty midwest state of Michigan, take it from me. Larsen holds up the best, and stick with the regular 3/4 mount. Buy the 3/4 holesaw that they sell that's made for headliners too. makes easy work, and the collar ensures you won't drill deeper than you need to. This larsen mount seems to hold up to corrosion well when used with fender mounts too, such as those sold by Valley Enterprises. I keep coming back and buying this one. You should too.

Larsen NMO Mount, Need I Say More?
Larsen quality, an essential component of new mobile antenna installations for those of us who are not afraid to drill a hole in some sheet metal. Just not worth it in my eyes to cut corners with a no-name offshore brand with this item.

Can’t ever go wrong with Larsen.
Just add heat shrink with weatherized adhesive inside to the coax at the base and you can mount this anywhere.I always add an FME female to the coax end so I can change connector types as needed.

Works great.
I installed this on a fender mount with zero drama. I did seal the solder connections with liquid electrical tape first. Worth the extra for a name brand over a chinese brand.

Needs slightly larger than 3/4" hole.
Turns out, a 3/4" hole saw is too small. Small notches must be filed on two sides of the hole to allow the outside portion to pass through.

Larsen perfection
These are the best NMOs on the market today. Easily accepts the standard nmo antenna or the much more efficient connector used in the ghz range.
