Best mobile laptop stand - firm, solid, easy to assemble!
This is great value for $40. It's very sturdy, rolls well, and can hold plenty of weight. It was also very easy to assemble, and can be set to be either flat-top or angled towards you. The 'base' is also very low to the floor, and can easily roll under a bed or couch so you can have a surface in front of you. The size is plenty big. I can fit a 17 inch laptop on it, as well as a mouse comfortably to the side with enough room to game. The tray has no wobble to it, and stays in place when I'm using my laptop on it with no problems. It won't go much higher than 30 inches - but I'm not sure why you'd need something that high anyways. Lowest is roughly 20 inches, which is fairly low. There's no notches in the post, you just unscrew the tension knob and set it to wherever you want. It's strong enough that there's no slip at all with weight on it once you tighten the knob. To switch between flat-top and angled is a simple process - just unscrew the tension knob as if you were adjusting the height and pull the entire top out, turn it around 180 degrees, and put it back in. Assembly is quick and easy. Probably took me ten minutes or so. Though, my only complaint about this piece is in the assembly - there are no words! It's a VERY basic picture-based booklet. If this wasn't so easy to assemble I would have been frustrated, but luckily, some good old-fashioned common sense is enough to assemble this. Be careful tightening the tray itself to the crossbar, you CAN overtighten the tray and crack the wood. This gets five stars because it's way better than anything I would have expected for $40. It's held up to daily use for about 6 months now, and works just as well as the first time I used it.

Unlike many other computer tables, this one adjusts to a low level.
I was pleasantly astonished by the quality and sturdiness This table adjusts to a sufficiently low level, perfect for my computer use while sitting in a chair. Buyers should beware of so many others that have their lowest level too high for comfortable use. It was easy to assemble and came with all the tools needed to assemble its 8 bolts, 4 flat washers, 4 lock washers, 4 nuts, 4 wheels, and 2 end caps. The metal portions are very sturdy. The table top's edges are smooth and rounded. Its wheels allow it to roll really smoothly on my carpeting. The table top does not tilt (fine with me). My only advice to the manufacturer would be to offer a lighter color natural wood version, and not to have the curve on the front edge. The top should be a perfect rectangle (straight front edge) because keyboards, laptop computers, and mouse pads have straight front edges. The added curved area is of no value to the user. Avoiding the curve would actually result in a slightly larger table top and less wood waste in the factory, and no increase in cost to the manufacturer. Thus this simple change would benefit both the user and the manufacturer.

Great all-around computer desk with low setting
This is the perfect couch desk. Its low-end adjustment allows a LOT of flexibility. The table space fits my Laptop and wireless mouse. Its manual adjust for height may not be a plus for some, but its really easy to turn the knob and set it. It is a solid built unit and looks great! I don't always make a point to do reviews unless something is really bad or really good. I had to look hard to find a table that would drop to this height, and it is great for making your couch a remote computer base.

Nice typing table, and top sits flat
Just got this today, and assembled with no problem. Will update if problems arise, but I wanted to write this to correct some of the mis-statements in other reviews which almost caused me not to buy it. It looks to me like the most common problem people were having had to do with inexperience in mechanical assembly. I am an experienced amateur woodworker and mechanical tinkerer, but I believe that anyone who takes the time can assemble this correctly and without too much difficulty. The most commonly reported complaint among the 1- and 2- star ratings was that the typing surface did not sit level, but at a slant. In fact, the cart is made so that the surface can be level or tilted. It simply depends on which way you attach the square channel rod to the top surface. The riser is designed so it comes up from the base at an angle, like a raked mast on an old sailboat. If you carefully follow the illustrated instructions, which show the rake angle, the surface will sit flat, with the curved edge facing you as you type. If you prefer the surface to be tilted, and the curved edge still facing you, just remove the four screws holding the square channel rod to the typing surface, and rotate it 180 degrees before reattaching. (To go from flat to tilted, you can also just loosen the thumb screw on the side of the square channel riser, rotate the typing surface 180 degrees, and reinsert. This does not require removing and replacing any of the screws. But this way, the curved edge will end up in the back of the typing surface, facing away from you.) Assembly took me just 20 minutes, working carefully from the labeled sequential diagrams. I used the supplied wrench for the Allen head screws and the little, Erector-set style end wrench, to see if a person without any other tools could assemble it this way. Later, I tightened the 4 screws that hold the riser to the base with a proper 11 mm end wrench. This appeared to be the point of greatest stress and I wanted to make sure it was tight. The hex nuts supplied are the expensive, self-locking kind with nylon wedge inside. These are designed to stay tight even when vibration occurs. Mine took two more full turns when I applied the proper end wrench. It's hard to say if that makes it stronger, or if the tightening you can achieve with the little, supplied wrench would have been enough. (By the way, novices please notice that the hex nuts are tapered on one side. Be sure to put the wider, flatter side of the nut against the surface it is tightening to.) I only give 4 stars because the plasticized edging material on the typing surface was damaged. It was significantly puckered at one point, enough to affect the appearance. I emailed Seville products about it, and got an almost immediate response. They asked for a picture of the damage and a copy of the receipt. I emailed that back to them, and got a promise that a replacement top would be sent out right away. That is good customer service, but it would have been better if the item had been inspected at the factory. It may be that this item is offered at such a low price, because the seller knows there are a lot of damaged parts. However, the basic design and materials are certainly worth every dollar. The item is manufactured in Taiwan, where labor costs are higher than on the mainland, and there is a longer history of modern manufacturing. The second most common problem I saw mentioned in other reviews is that the casters came loose. This seems to have been addressed by the manufacturer, as in the version I got, the casters are attached to bolts which screw into a retaining sleeve in the base. The casters, however, are pretty flimsy plastic. I could see them eventually breaking under any serious use, like wheeling from room to room, especially over stone or rough surfaces. In our application they just sit on a rug and wheel a few feet from the desk to the wall and back. If anything is to break, I would expect it to be the casters. As the bottom surface is flat, it would be easy to simply replace them with a stick on rubber pad, in case the replacement part is unavailable down the road. The other weak item is the working surface itself. Like all cheap furniture, this is particle board with a thin laminate finish. If mine ever goes bad, I would replace it with a nice piece of ash or oak. The metal frame seems like it would last a long time. All in all it is a nice little typing table for the very low price it is offered at. I will update if any structural or other problems develop.

Simple to make up and easy to adjust the height. This is the 2nd one already had one…. But 2 Grandsons (siblings) no arguing they can use one each…they use for their electronic devices, lower the height when they’re sitting on the sofa pulled closer to have their lunch or snacks. Great for us too for laptops if not wanting to sit at the desk or using the desk for papers and the table for the laptop. Adjustable height so can be the same height as the desk and not having to alter the height of the chair when working from both. Easily moveable round the room, just glides, but we do have oak veneer flooring.
