Great bang for your buck!
This game is really amazing. Highly replayable with multiple game modes to play. There are lots of pieces and parts and seems very intense at first but after a learning curve it's really simple and easy to pick up. My family and friends have played it a few times are not bored of it yet. With the replayability I think it's worth the money. There are few pieces that are not so fitted to their stands so you might have to super glue a few pieces but outside of that the game looks amazing and adds elements that I haven't seen in other board games. All in all worth it to play with the family and friends

Great game and great mechanics
I wasn’t very sure about buying this game, it looked too cool to be true. But well, the game is entertaining, you can play several modes, easy to learn and joyful to play. I recommended. The min figures, the dice, and the map itself are fantastic.

Awesome
A really fun and gorgeous game. Love it, but unfortunately the box came damaged, so a failure in shipping. Otherwise its such a good game with lovely minis.

Lots of value, not the greatest quality.
I found this game at a steep discount, and I believe I know why. The quality of manufacture is quite poor- but the gameplay itself has the potential of being great; if this game is polished and released as a “finished” product. To start off; I found this for around $25 on sale so I’m not too disappointed for that money spent. However, the lack of quality really annoyed me, to the point of wanting write a review so others can have the proper expectations. The copy I received had multiple flaws that aren’t game breaking, but are enough to warrant note. The cards included are very poor quality. Mine came with indents that appear as of a small child bit one a couple times, they are curved (if you play MTG, it’s similar to the way some foil cards bend) and even a simple shuffle creases them. The minis are really cool, original, and there’s a lot of them. However all of them had minor flaws that just should be fixed. One of the main ships is separated at the casting seam so that it is unusable without repair. The cloud bases are all uneven, the clear color is strangely discolored, one appears as if someone attempted to paint it but then wiped the paint off. The paint on the minis is appreciated but spotty and frankly just bad. The dyed minis of a similar color almost looks like other colors due to differences. I believe I may have gotten a play tested or demo copy but all pieces and the box came in plastic wrapping. The player cards, packaging, cards, and instruction manual all contain tons of misprints, misalignments, and missing words. Again perhaps a minor annoyance but in at least one case a missing word in the rules caused major confusion on a play. Also worth mentioning there are some pretty glaring omissions of rules that I think should be included but I won’t make opinion calls. Aside from these factors the gameplay could use some minor polish and was overall fun and made my group really think about plays in the cooperative mode which we were able to win once and lost once. Fairly well balanced but I just don’t get the impression this game is a finished product.

Whale-hunting Air Pirates! Thar' shay blows!
Whale hunting air pirates. This about sums up this game in a nutshell. The planet you "sail" the skies on has an eternally blowing wind that changes directions frequently, which changes where you can navigate to and if you should happen to get attacked by the planet's native creatures (crestors, i.e. "sky whales"). You're trying to harvest these creatures for their teeth in order to build up one's notoriety. Once harvested, you have to return to the sky base with them in tote. Along the way, you'll likely be attacked by crestors and perhaps even be looted by your fellow air pirates! There's crew to hire, equipment items to assist you on your expeditions and even objectives to accomplish while you're gaining your booty and notoriety. Overall, the game has a decent amount of depth to it and seeing what happens if you try Strategy A or Strategy B or Strategy C adds to its replayability. There's different heros (pirates?) to choose from, each with an asymmetrical bonus, that can certainly sway how you play and what strategies to employ. At a 1-5 players count with game duration at around 45-60 minutes for the game, Windward is sure to bring about some entertaining game nights.
