Claims to be made of New Zealand pine but I am not convinced. If it is real wood then it is probably balsa. Having said that the frame is well constructed and not badly finished. I was drawn to this product because it said it included a mount with a 8" x 10" window but it is actually sized 7.5" x 9.5" so obscures quite a lot of a 8x10 image. The 6" x 4" window mount also included is actually the correct size and both are decent quality card. The frame aperture without mounts is just under 8" x 11.5" (including frame width is 9.5" x 12.75") I ordered two and one of them came with imperfections in the glass but the customer service was very good and they sent me a new one straight away. There are much cheaper frames out there but they are generally very shoddy crap. This is a fairly well constructed frame with real glass and a pretty decent finish for the price.This item asked me to rate it for Lightweight, Value for Money and Warmth so I think something got lost in translation. It is very light for a glass fronted frame though :o)

Fastenings at back very poor quality and loose.

Glass edges sharp. Cut two fingers.

Great frame. Perfect size to frame A4 print.
