Quite LITERALLY the best for it's value.
Microphone is amazing, sound is clear compared to probably EVERY USB microphone that exists. Extremely simple to mute and control the volume; quite literally a simple plug-and-play. It's a nice clean look, the range is soso but not overly bad on it. The TWO main issues I have, being the cable is 'sensitive' while having to adjust the cable here and there or else I'm getting single ear-cup audio on my HD599. The second issue being the metal 'cable' for the microphone itself is kind of droopy and needs to be adjusted every now and then. But for $20 - this is probably THE best microphone I've ever used. I've got a pretty deep voice, and it picks up extremely well, whereas using a snowball ICE from years ago, and a Yeti sounded like mud. TO ADD; Paired with Sennheiser 599s, don't make the silly mistake I did, buying an adapter without the horrible locking mechanism Sennheiser added to their headphones lmao.

TL:DR this works great with XBOX ONE and BEATS PRO headphones AS IS. Just plug and play without buying extra stuff.
I'm writing this review as an update because i notice most of the other reviews seem to be a little old and didn't really address the questions i needed answered before I purchased. after hours of research, i still felt like i was taking a risk by buying this, so here goes my attempt to help some people before buying it: First and foremost, I purchased these to use on an XBOX ONE with my brand new BEATS PRO HEADPHONES that i bought a few days ago at a black friday sale. I have BOTH microphone adapters for my controllers, that is to say, I have the adapters with and without the keyboard. I figured since my Samsung Galaxy headphones worked great, a pair of Beats would be even better. i was wrong. I was sorely disappointed to find that the original microphone cable would not transmit the sound of my voice, and it felt like i had just wasted a few hundred bucks. Especially after i asked around at best buy and the associates told me that beats headphones wouldn't work with anything besides a Beats brand cable. That seemed odd, so i did more research of my own... which brings me to the meat and potatoes of my review. after viewing a few videos on YouTube, i stumbled upon this cable. Let me tell you right out the gate that IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH MY BEATS AS IS. the quality is actually much better than I had even anticipated and I didn't even need to buy any extra adapters. Just plug and play. that's why I'm giving it 5 stars. Definitely worth the 30 dollar investment to make good use of a set of headphones you already have instead of buying another set of Two or Three hundred dollar headphones to achieve the very same quality. Now that we've got that settled, I'd like to address some questions I had that i couldn't find an answer to. Here's what I found for those of you who may be wondering the same things (Please keep in mind, this my experience with BEATS PRO. outcome may vary depending on whatever headphones you're looking to augment with this microphone:) The Y cable that youtube and amazon recommend you purchase alongside this microphone is NOT NECESSARY because it plugs into the xbox controller perfectly even without it. The microphone is built with a regular jack that has the THREE BANDS on it, just like the microphone that came with my Samsung Galaxy. I should also note that it comes with a Y cable that converts the jack for use with a computer or anything else that might need that sort of thing. Something else that was recommended to purchase alongside this microphone is an adapter for the jack that plugs into the headsets themselves. it's supposed to convert the TWO BAND jack into one with THREE BANDS. This is also NOT NECESSARY. I bought the adapter and tested the microphone with and without it.Turns out the headphones worked perfectly with and without the adapter. there was no real sound difference that I could notice, so it seems to just be a waste of 5 bucks for me. whatever though, better safe than sorry when it comes to these things. As for sound quality, this cable seems to be just as good as the original Beats brand cable that came with the headphones themselves. I'm super impressed with these, and I hope this review helps somebody looking to convert their beats into an awesome pair of gaming headphones.

Works perfect - after a little hands-on work
I got this used, and I'm guessing I know why the last person returned it - when I first plugged it into my headphones it sounded awful. The bass was empty and replaced with a distorted hiss which is the telltale sign that the plug isn't in all the way. Sure enough, if I grabbed and pushed the plug into my headphones super hard it sounded fine... but once I let go it would sound awful again. So I had to take a pair of sharp scissors and very careful trim away a tiny sliver of the plastic rim that surrounds the base of the 3.5mm plug so that about 1mm more of it was exposed and able to slide into the headphone. Works perfect now! The only thing wrong was that it had too much plastic on the 3.5mm plug going into the headphone. Such a weird defect, but easy to fix. Besides that odd manufacturing defect, the rest of the product works flawlessly. The mic isn't going to get an award for noise cancellation but it isn't super-sensitive to background noise either. Voice quality is definitely good enough for gaming/discord, and the mic is adjustable so you can put it where you want around your face to avoid breathing on it. It's a lot cheaper than a ModMic and it's easier to use - this is just ONE cable that you plug into your headphone, then unplug when you're done, as opposed to having a separate mic with its own separate cable and separate attachment. So that's very handy, and it allows me to easily turn my headphones into a full-on gaming headset!

Veio bem embalado e chegou antes do esperado.

I have the original V-Moda Boom Pro. This is a side-grade that I was happy to get as I often game in the same room as my partner. We are only 4 feet apart, and the old mic would pick up her voice unless I set a very high noise gate in Discord. Anything auto/AI noise canceling was hit or miss, as it would decide that her speaking was my speaking. After setting up this mic, ensuring it's within an inch of my mouth, and angling it correctly—wow! She can now yell at her screen and my mic doesn't pick it up at all. The sound quality is a slight step down, but I'm picky about such things and my friends on Discord didn't notice or comment on it.
