So we have added some wind power to help charge our batteries at night for our crypto currency mining, trying to balance out the solar system to battery to inverters we use for greater capacity. This unit like others we have tried is nice and quiet and they generate a trickle charge (3-5 amps) amount of 12v power charge at 5-10 mile an hour wind. That's 40-60 watts of power. If that's what you want, then you will like these units. But look up the power curve on these units and they are not producing anything close to the rated or stated power until wind speed is 25-30 miles an hour. For reference, any wind speed over 20 miles per hour will cause the coast guard to issue a small craft advisory warning. So keeping a battery you use occasionally charged for lights triggered for a while by a motion sensor would be a good use but not a significant contributor as rated to an off grid power setup.

I have purchased many items from Amazon over the past few years, and this is the first bad product experience I've had with Amazon purchases, but it is a significant one.The bottom blade mounting plate had a number of untapped screw holes, and more than half of the tapped holes had to be re-tapped in order to properly insert the screws.Some of the round head, Allen machine cap screws did not have Allen Wrench holes finished, and couldn't be used. I had to purchase replacement screws.There are NO instructions provided on required blade position (leading edge & tail) or direction of rotation. I am afraid to put it into service not knowing any of this important information.All together, a disappointment for the $300 it cost plus shipping

Seller describes the windmill as being 12volt and 24volt compatible. After receiving the merchandise, it shows it’s only 12volt. The seller obviously does not know what they have. Buyers be aware!

I purchased this last year. It quit working about 2 months in use, it isn't built to withstand elements.
