Voted Best Popcorn Machine!!
WoW! This is the best popcorn machine...ever. It's very easy to use. I followed the directions using fresh Orville Redenbacher's popcorn and popcorn oil. I did not use the butter well in the machine. I prefer to use real butter on popcorn that I melt in the mircowave and add later in a rather generous amount. I add a bit of Real Salt too. The machine quickly popped all of the corns and it was delicious. The machine was very easy to clean with having the non-stick surface. Washed the bowl by hand. I would not recommend washing in a dishwasher.

Quality Product!
We received our first West Bend Sitr Crazy for a wedding gift - 38 years ago. Since then we have bought 2 more, the latest being the one I'm reviewing! I like the blue color of course and the shape of the popper. Bowl and bottom nest for easy storing. I don't get very many kernels of unpopped corn. Pops quite fast. Doesn't take much oil to pop a bowlful. I do wish the cord was removeable. It can get in the way when you turn the popper over. There is a place to wind the cord on the bottom, but I don't use it as it is resistant to go in the right direction! It is best to wear oven mitts when turning the bottom over to empty it into the top bowl as it can get quite hot. Price is relevant. West Bend still makes good quality poppers, and I wouldn't buy anything else!

THE BEST!!
My 15 year old Stir Crazy (purchased from Amazon in 2011) was retired after the plastic dome broke. Amazingly, the popper still worked great. West Bend has a new model and a replacement dome for the old one is not available. So I purchased the new 6 quart machine and it is fantastic! It turn's out perfect popcorn and there's a few added improvements also. The overall size is more compact (storage), the dome/bowl is stronger, the cap/cover fits better and is easier to get on and off. The cord is permanently attached and there's an on/off switch. I eat a full batch of Trader Joe's Organic popcorn by cooking it in EVOO. That's it! No salt or butter. Very healthy and delish. I enjoy 4 or 5 batches a week. I recommend this product to my friends and relatives.

Great popper!
Works great, minimal unpopped kernels, and fast popping time. The only things that I don’t like are: The interior of the lid gets wet from the steam condensation so the popcorn on the container side is impacted by moisture. And, cleaning the lid container is tedious but it might be easier with a dishwasher. The vent holes and top can be difficult by hand washing. Overall I highly recommend!

Good for the time that it works. Warranty process leaves a bit to be desired.
This is my second West Bend popcorn maker I have purchased. (the other is this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PFFQGDX?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2&th=1) Generally, the products are good when they work, but the problem is they last 1-2 years and die. The first product lasted a little less than 2 years. The second one which is the this item I am reviewing, lasted 6 months. Because it died so soon, I decided to submit a claim warranty to Legacy Companies (owner of many small appliance brands, of which West Bend happens to be one). This review will be in two parts, one for the actual appliance, and the other for the customer service/warranty process. Popcorn Maker Review: (4 stars) Pros: - Great when it works. Very even cooking, all kernels popped, and no burned popcorn. - Nice construction on the base. Screw top to hold the bar in place is solid. - Very easy to use. A trained monkey could figure this out. Cons: - The red topper never fit on the bowl, so I could never use it. I always had to use another bowl, created more dishes and essentially making the benefit of having an "all in one" useless. - Doesn't last. This version croaked in 6 months. - Replacement/warranty process required a $20 fee to process, which is 50% of the cost of new one. Given the hassle of the warranty process, it's cheap enough that it's probably better to just buy a new one and hope for a better outcome with the next version. Warranty Process Review: (2 Stars) Pros: - Reps were friendly and professional during the whole process when a call was needed. - Very on top of the process from a communication standpoint in terms of making sure things were moving. Mostly all through email, but they actually sent reminders about your ticket # and where you were in the process to get you to move through it (as opposed to ignoring you at all costs and hoping you would give up) Cons: - A TON of back and forth. They asked for my information, which was provided, and proceeded to ask for it at least 2 other times in the process when they already had it. I think the whole email exchange was at least 8-10 emails in each direction to push this thing through. - Similar to the con above, but honestly, it would probably be less costly to Legacy to just give you a freebie if you than to pay their customer service reps. I'm sure it cost these guys at least $100 to service my claim. - Pretty steep handling/freight charge for a replacement. The new unit is $45 and it cost me $20 to ship a replacement under the warranty. I give this process 2 stars solely for how arduous and time consuming it was. It wasn't the most horrific warranty process I've dealt with (you win Hamilton Beach!), but in the end it just isn't worth your time for what you get.

Been a fan of popcorn for years, but have been wanting to move away from the bagged microwave stuff, as they're all fairly garbage and tend to be much unhealthier. Looked into getting one of these StirCrazy units after watching several videos and learning about the ingredients needed to get that movie theatre style taste at home. Main ingredient you'll want is some Coconut Oil, particularly ones that include "beta-carotine" as part of its ingredients. That's what gives it the very "orange" texture within the oil, and helps add that "yellow" colouring onto the popcorn itself. It does give a slight buttery taste aswell, but nothing too significantly. Next ingredient is some seasoning salt, particularly "Flavacol". This is the key that gives that taste that pops out and really drives it close to the movie theatres. Its the same stuff they even use in the theatre! Apply about two tablespoons worth of Coconut Oil, a half teaspoon worth of Flavacol, and mix with around 1/3 or 1/2 a cup of Popcorn, and let it pop! The Stir Crazy does an excellent job at popping the popcorn within a span of a few minutes. I usually like to let it run first to melt the oil down into a liquid state, than stop to give it a bit to cool off before applying the kernels and seasoning salt. Turn back on, place the dome over the machine, and within just a couple minutes, perfectly popped corn! Cleaning can be a bit of a nuisance, especially the dome since it will be rather oily, but the base can easily be cleaned with a wet sponge. The stirring rod can be removed and screwed back into place with the plastic knob that houses it, which helps for cleaning up. Overall, highly satisfied. No more microwave popcorn for me!

ネタが半分も弾けないまま焦げて終了。 こんなマシンに1万円以上もだすのは無駄です。 それから販売する方も、自分たちで使ってみてから販売してください。 いかにダメかわかります。

The popcorn popper works fine. I'm now in India and I have a voltage step-down device for using this machine: If you have a different voltage than in the USA (120) as in India (240), be sure to use a voltage regulator or the popper will die an instant death. If there is a power-cut (happens in India all the time), just wait and it will begin when power returns. Oh, the popcorn? It's great. I've used it a few times and really enjoy it.
