Does the butterfly mechanism stay closed while shaving? I have a Mehaz that works its way open thus causing me to nick myself.

I never had a problem, but my wife started using it for her legs and I forgot to tell her to keep her grip away from the butterfly release; she got a nasty cut from it. Once she realized what caused it she's never had a problem with it since. I just make sure it's tightened down good before I shave. Fantastic razor.

Is this really precise? I'm looking for something to trim my beard, like my barber does...

I would like to counter what Susan said, in that, I put one of the sharpest blades (Feather, Astra) in this razor and I did get cut regularly. To prevent cuts, I really had to focus on holding the razor at the right angle. The less sharp blades didn't cut me up as much. This is face shaving, so maybe it works differently from whatever (legs, maybe) kind of shaving Susan has experience with.
