Brer Molasses Blackstrap 12 OZ (Pack of 2)

I mix a tablespoon of this with a cup of yogurt, and it helps relieve my back pain and joint pain--probably because of its high magnesium content. Surprisingly, another brand of blackstrap molasses that I tried did not do much for me. Brer Rabbit is very thick and rich. It is a natural source of calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and other stuff that your body needs. It tastes pretty good. It is just a little more sour than regular molasses. It is unsulfured and comes in an antique looking glass jar. This molasses is made out of sugarcane juice. It has a high sugar content (Sugars 9g), and that is not so good. What I don't like about this molasses is that the bottle has no safety seal. Also, the bottle caps were loose in all three jars that I received. But the seller I got it from wrapped the jars tightly in bubble wrap--otherwise, the molasses would have leaked out. Many health benefits are claimed for blackstrap molasses. It contains nutrients that keep bones healthy, it is good for your skin, it gives you energy, it is good for your heart, and it supposedly prevents cancer. It says on the jar, refrigeration not necessary. One tablespoon is 60 calories. Calcium 20%, magnesium 25%, iron 4%, and potassium 450mg. It is gluten free. It tastes great with baked beans. You can add this to a cup of coffee instead of using sugar. Some people also use blackstrap molasses as a facial.

Nice product, but wish the opening was large enough to use a thin spatula to get the last of it out of the bottle for baking. Also nice to put in hot milk for a nite time beverage.

I searched for this product when it disappeared from my regional stores on the east coast Great flavor No off putting after taste Great ingredients and nutrition I love this product so much I agreed to the two bottles minimum purchase Will be buy again and share the second bottle with friends and family members

Arrived safely/thoroughly wrapped. For some reason I can't find Blackstrap Molasses locally anymore, so very glad I could get it here, and at a totally reasonable price. Some people say Blackstrap has health benefits, not sure about that, but the taste is distinctive and I prefer it in my recipes. Update: Ordered again, and again appreciate that they secured/bubble wrapped thoroughly. It's true the producer apparently doesn't use the small neck bottle anymore, but I kept an old one. With a funnel I can fill it without problems, and periodically I'll clean it with a bit of soap and hot water. Glad I'm able to get this.

Christmas cookie time and with the pandemic stress baking, molasses appears to be at a premium. Our number one choice, the Fabulous Brer Rabbit Molasses - always delicious. Could not find in stores anywhere, so ordered online and planned to begin baking as soon as I received. I will have to wait a bit longer, as the bottles were fractured within the tight, bubble wrap. Inside a too large box. Molasses was everywhere in the box and also leaking onto my floors, countertops, and sink. I'm sure there is a puddle in the delivery truck. Ugh! Molasses is sticky and everywhere! I later looked at myself in the mirror to find it all down the side of my face and arm! Brer Rabbit Molasses is superior molasses. The best! Just an unfortunate accident in packaging or delivery.
