I really like them. Cook just what you need.

We go through a lot of these beans. We use them to make refried beans for burritos and burrito bowls. They are easy to prepare and taste so much better than canned refried beans.

great for adding to your soups and chili. Great for camping lightweight. takes up less space in the cabinet. No one can tell they are not fresh beans

Use it equally to liquid for a dip. I add it instead of roux or slurry.

Easy to prepare. Not same consistency as regular beans, but ok.

These are my go-to beans since the Santa Fe Bean company ceased operations. A bit pricey for what you get, but I keep buying them!

I have been looking for a lazy way to make refried beans, and this definitely fits the bill. Unfortunately, the flavor is a bit odd. There is a sweetness, almost fruity, flavor to these beans. If your plan is to mix it with something, like in a soup, then I think you might not notice, but I ate them straight, as a side dish, as well as in a breakfast Burrito, and the flavor was noticeably off. Pinto beans usually have an "earthy" flavor, but again, these come off as "fruity."

Working on great vegan ramens at home - these flakes do well in the same time as ramen noodles with a hot water bath. Taste... like beans.
