Excellent produit a prix compétitif

Great alternative with ONE modification needed
Having lived with a firm understanding that OEM intakes are generally subpar in the performance category, I found a lot of difficulty accepting many people’s’ claim that the 2018+ Ford Mustang GT factory airbox really was well built and better than a bolt on intake. The reasoning was primarily because Ford’s system will pull/capture true cold air from the driver’s side nostril and feed it directly through the filter and into the manifold, whereas normal aftermarket intakes will draw air from the hot engine bays and suffer from much higher IATs (not to mention losing the ram-jet feature as you accelerate. So I specifically looked for intakes that capitalize on that nostril to help ram air into the engine and discovered this Injen Evolution. First off, installation is easy and straightforward if you’re a motorhead; there’s even videos online to help. The only difficult part is connecting the tube to the intake manifold, it requires some force. Use a vise grip to hold open the spring clamp for the vacuum line.Aesthetically the Injen looks even better and more streamlined than the OEM box. They put a lot of effort into fitting it perfectly in. The plastic is thick material and definitely better at dissipating heat soak than a simple aluminum pipe or plastic shield. The closed nature of the box also helps keep the IATs reasonable. In terms of sounds there’s maybe a slightly more aggressive tone especially on morning starts, though I’m running a resonator delete and H-pipes so it wasn’t exactly quiet before. The only issue I found with this intake is a slight hesitation in accelerating in the low end of the rpm range, and I found the solution. If you look closely at that driver’s side nostril, you’ll see the honeycombs that feed to the intake are blocked off. The air enters from the extreme side and hooks around metal support framing before making its way into the intake. I think Ford did this because they were overly concerned with extreme rain allowing water into your intake? I’m not concerned with that and have read plenty of write-ups from others who dremeled them open or replaced the whole grille with a more open option and with no issues for either in the rain. So that’s exactly what I did: I gently bored out each closed off honeycomb with a dremel and touched up any nicks with universal black car paint. The result is noticeable. Before I was looking at 22.5 inHg in the vacuum at idle after hard driving in the heat of Florida, and now it’s 21-22 inHg. Inlet temp drops a *lot* faster once moving and got as close as +2 degrees more than ambient air temp when driving at speed. The throttle response feels more alive on the butt dyno too, less of an initial hesitation.Theoretically this modification makes sense; before the air ramming in would hit a flat metal surface and awkwardly make its way around that into the intake. Now, it’s a direct shot straight in. In fact, if you look closely after the mod you can see the Injen Evo’s blue cone filter.I’ll keep this review updated as I use this intake. For the money ($275) it was a steal but *only* if you’re comfortable and able to drill out or replace the grille. My next step (very soon) is a SCT/X4 tuner with a VMP tune, which should capitalize on this intake as much as possible.*Update*Just had the vehicle tuned by VMP with the X4 and wow what a different car. They have specific adjustments for this Injen Evo on the Mustang that I feel truly capitalizes on this CAI. I know Injen claims this is no-tuner-required but you’ll want to tune it anyway. IATs have still been much better with the honeycomb delete especially once leaving idle traffic and getting up to speed.

Easy install and feels stronger
Wanted to let the Tang breathe better and after looking at different systems settled on this on. Love it and it was easy to install. Had it installed within 30 to 45 minutes. No problems whatsoever. The instructions only would be harder so please if you by this watch the install on YouTube or some where else and this will be no problem. You will be pleased with the little extra pep and glad you did it.

Totally new drivign dynamics
Just finished an install on my bone stock 2021 GT Performance Package 2, and the difference is night and day. You won't notice much until you reach about 5,000 RPM. This is where the GT notoriously nosedives in terms of torque and falls off the map. This intake flattens out the torque curve at the top end, giving you several thousand more RPMs of acceleration power. This puts the HP and torque curves in more symmetry, making my Mustang feel like an all-new car from 5,000-8,000 RPM. I can't wait to get a tune and really maximize this intake.
