Cheap, works really well, is sturdy and has handset paging
This is my 3rd VTech in 20 years and it's never the phone's fault; my 1st one got dropped about a gazillion times, the 2nd one got beat 2 a pulp and this latest one we literally wore out the #1 and #2 buttons over something like 10 years. The battery life on these things is great and they charge quickly. I typically stuff the handset under my pillow when I don't want to have to get out of bed early for the first call of the day and even after forgetting it there, it will still have batt life left well in to the NEXT morning even.Simple phone number directory entry and easy number recall, it's got auto redial, mute, different ringers to choose from, and when you've lost the handset YOU CAN PAGE THE HANDSET FROM THE BASE and there's enough ringing time for you to actually find it!!!The 1st two were white but this time I bought black only to realize it'll be so much harder to find so I put the old white battery cover on the new one as a visual aid.I really can't say enough good about this phone other than...in all the time I've owned all three, I've only had to buy a replacement battery once.

Loud, clear, and just right for anyone who wants a simple phone
My grandpa insists on keeping his home phone even though he never uses it. It didn’t help that he could barely hear it either. I figured if he’s paying a phone bill every month he might as well be able to use it so I ordered this one since it had everything he needed and was a great price. It’s a plain old phone line so it was simple to install. Just plug the base into a wall outlet and then plug the phone cord into the base (it even comes with a cord). The phone is up and running in seconds. To make it even easier for him I added a few phone numbers and names into the phone. This was surprisingly easy and only took a few minutes. This way he won’t have to go looking for our numbers, plus our names will show when we call. His biggest issue is hearing so I set the ringer to high. It’s loud enough that even he didn’t have problems hearing it. The call volume is pretty loud and I found calls to be clear as well. He was able to hear well through the test calls I made him.The buttons are big enough that he’s not accidentally pressing more than one button at a time. They’re also easy to push (the other reason he needed a new phone). The phone comes with a small instruction manual so it’s easier for him to get used to the phone. So far, he’s happy with the phone. If anything changes I’m sure he will let me know and I’ll share an update. It’s a simple phone that’s just perfect for someone who doesn’t want/need any extras. It’s loud, has large enough buttons, and it’s cordless. It feel like it was a great choice for him.

Good budget phone. Missing features.
This is a good bottom-barrel phone for those that get free home phone service from whatever means. This can be google voice, a 3 bundle with cable, whatever. It is nice to have a landline in case your cellphone dies, and it is nice to have better sound quality than many cellphones provide since they tend to focus on gaming, Gigahertz processors, etc, but you can't freaking HEAR an actual phone call.Ok end rant. This phone is nice and clear and works fine. However, it is missing a few important features. mostly no SPEAKER PHONE. That is the big one for me. I assumed ALL phones had that... whoops. There is also no headphone jack in case you wanted to use better speakers or a bluetooth speaker, whatever.

Great phone at a great price!
I bought this phone as a Christmas present for my parents. To be clear, it was one of a couple of presents but those of us without money tend to buy needs rather than wants. Anyway, they were using a cordless phone with a broken antenna, a battery with a short lifespan, and they would use a rubber band to hold it in place on the charger. My mother's only condition was that it had to be "white, beige, or bisque". I came to the sudden realization that there was a very limited selection of phones in this color being sold individually, and decided on this one after doing a little research. My mother loves this phone. She said she even likes the sound of the ring better than the old phone. I answered it tonight in the dark, and love the inclusion of the backlight.I noticed that some people gave it a bad review based on their own ignorance. You can read about the phone features BEFORE you actually go ahead and purchase the item. If they had done this, they would have seen that this phone does not have a speakerphone, speed dial, an answering machine, or a headset jack. This wasn't a problem for us. We don't use speakerphone, speed dial, or headsets; and the phone in my parents' bedroom already has an answering machine. It does come with called ID and call waiting, which is perfect for us.
