Samsonite 10485 Delegate II 5-Inch Attache (Black)

This is an excellent brief case, it is larger than I expected and very solidly built, plus the latches are on the inside and not the flapper latches like so many other, easily broken briefcases.

I ordered the product shown but received a hard plastic briefcase without the wheels, extensible handle or soft side-pouch shown. On my second phone call to eBags (the first was not returned) I was informed that Amazon had failed to remove the listing when the product was no longer available. They have provided me a return authorization.I was disappointed they would not take responsiblity for failing to call me back, failingto monitor their Amazon listings, or for sending me something different from what I'd ordered. I'm not aquainted with the concept of an approximate inventory.

I have been buying these for many years. It seems every replacement is worse than the previous. As others have stated, the latches will not release to open at the worst times. Very frustrating and irritating. The latches are now enclosed in a cheap brittle plastic retainer that cracks and distorts and is what causes this problem. Customer service for this issue was nonresponsive and although they keep selling these, no replacement parts have been available for years. I bought my last one, I'm done.

Looks good, feels good but closes funny, like its out of square. I will try the larger one next time.

Although this isn't top of the line, it serves it's purpose well. I can fit my pad folio, date book, seven pens/highlighters, large laptop with extended battery and charger, numerous files, wireless mouse, large USB drive, numerous business cards, and a few other small office supplies. The outer shell of the briefcase is somewhat flexible, but is rigid enough. The shell also has a design that does well at hiding any scratches and looks fairly aesthetically pleasing for a no-nonsense look. The handle is a hard rubber and the ribbed underside of the handle isn't that uncomfortable, but will leave lines on one's hand. No trouble with the locking mechanism as of yet, but I haven't owned this briefcase long enough to attest to it's durability. The inside is fairly spartan, but goes along with the no-nonsense theme. The three pen holder is flexible plastic and there is no padding in the interior, save for the gray liner, so there will be some hollow sound when not filled with office supplies. It sounds solid enough when filled.The fear of tearing or marring similarly priced leather briefcases was a factor in my decision to purchase this item. This case feels as though it might last for some time or until an upgrade/replacement is warranted. This case, for my purposes, is mainly used for securely transferring documents and as a mobile office for in-home visits. All in all, and as of now, I would purchase again.

My husband goes thru briefcase every year sometime six months. I was very excited to find this one on amazon because I know it's going to last a long time. It a lot lighter than the leather briefcase of same size. My husband love samsonite brand.

Strong exterior and comfortable handle; secure closing so no unwanted openings to spill contents; suits my organizational and storage needs.

I ordered the Samsonite 10485 Delegate II 5 inch attache case, today I received my order it is the Samsonite 11021 Business One Mobile Office (Black). Completely different brief case.I reordered the Samsonite 10485 Delegate II 5 inch attache , as it said there was "only one left" . The price however was now $209.05 , when I ordered the 10485 Delegate II 5 inch attache, the price I paid was $150.05. I still want the 10485 Delegate II 5 inch attache. I am moving and needed it for my new job, and I don't have a presentable attache case for my new role.
