Great Value
Hello 👋 I bought this not to mount on the roof of my rv , but on the side. When I ordered it I was not sure of the quality of the plastic. Once I received it I was very happy . This is a quality made item , the plastic is thick and durable. The fittings that the wires go are of same quality. How I installed it : I drilled a hole 1/2 Size bigger than both wires would fit side x side. I added a rubber grommet to aluminum siding so not to cut into my wires. I then traced the housing Onto trailer , added putty tape over lapping outline by 1/3 . I drilled a hole at each corner , lined it up onto putty tape then used self tapping screws to attach to rv. I then used a plastic putty knife to trim off access putty.

A decent, ABS feed-through housing with two compression glands.
If you're feeding cables (think solar, although there are many other possibilities such as CATV) through something like an RV roof you have a basic problem -- how to do it without water getting in. If you're ok with the feed coming from the bottom then a clamshell works for spray, and you can caulk that (with something removable, like silicone) around the edges. But that will not take direct exposure, which is why the clamshell. This is designed for direct exposure such as wind-driven on-axis (whether from wind or driving) and to keep the weather out. Which it does, and the housing is wide enough at the base to use screws, something like a marine-grade sealant (e.g. 4200) or, even better, both -- just use stainless for the screws if you want to be able to get them back out (and you probably do.) The only thing to be aware of is that this is ABS -- that is, PLASTIC -- not fiberglass. Were it fiberglass with gelcoat it would probably last 20 years in the sun. It might look like it had been in a war, but it would be fine. Being ABS expect about five in full sun exposure, and check it YEARLY. That thing about screws being removable up above, yeah, that's why -- you will eventually have to replace it, so do think about that and how you'll unthread the wiring to do so. For this application there isn't better that I can find, so yes, highly recommended. Just use your head.

Solves waterproof issues.
Easy to install. When using it to go through metal, trim the metal so it doesn't come in contact with your wires, or have the metal a 16th of an inch bigger than the opening. Low profile and has an angle area, if using on a vehicle or towed vehicle, place it so the angled part towards the front.

Worked great for Starlink install on RV
This worked perfect for running starlink cables through my RV roof. It's the clean professional install look I was going for. I needed to get the larger size to fit the widest part of the starlink cable through.

Perfect for larger ga. wire..check your sizes.
This is actually on the outside of my workshop for building computers (ie, wood siding). It's not painted or primed, so if it's exposed it must be painted. UV breaks down plastic, not heat, so PAINT it. I've converted entirely to solar and am running the 10 ga. wire through this from the panels to the battery...and they fit like a glove when the nuts are tightened even slightly. This thing works very well, seals tight, and is well made. A little caulking all the way around on the flange that butts to the surface of the wood, a coat of paint the next day and it's as watertight as it can be. The nuts are a little close together, so you may need a wrench to tighten them if you have bigger fingers..not a lot of room to work right there. I'd use silicone on a smooth surface, boat or RV, but keep in mind silicone is NOT paintable unless it's labeled so (silicone/acrylic).

Good item arrived in time. Used this to bring two WiFi co ax through the roof of Motorhome. Works fine. Did drill some holes around the flange and glued and screwed to the roof. WiFi coax are very small to able to pass the connectors through the gland and then fit the unit to roof. Just fits under the antenna stand off bracket as well.

I got this to allow rear camera cables through the back of the caravan without water ingress. So far so good. If you are thinking of getting one of these, make sure the plastic nuts will screw down enough to compress into the cable otherwise you'll have to use sealant to seal it. There are different sizes.
