Great Value, Functions as Expected
Nice Pencil Set, great value for the price. I haven't had them for very long, but they feel nice in the hand, function properly, comes with lots of extra leads HB and 2B hardness and colors as well. Comes with a few tip sharpeners and two white erasers. The 2mm thickness will work great for my grandchild's school work. I wish they had butt-end erasers but they don't.

A good pencil for a very reasonable price
My 11-year-old son really likes 2-millimeter mechanical pencils for some reason. I just asked him and he says, "Because I can use it diagonally for a thin edge or straight up-and-down for a thicker line. It doesn't break as easily as 0.5mm or other smaller diameters, and the graphite lasts longer because there's just more of it." There you have it! (It turns out he also has strong feelings about the superiority of mechanical pencils in general because "I hate writing with a tiny pencil when you've sharpened it a lot—those things are nightmares!") In the way of children, he's managed to lose the 2mm pencils he had, so I went looking for an inexpensive replacement option (because you know these are destined for the same eventual fate!). These ones looked like a great deal, although I'd bet money that the pencils will be AWOL long before he gets through a third of the included graphite refills. Still, I'd rather have plenty than not enough. When these arrived, I was amused by the inclusion of the most minimal pencil sharpener I've ever seen. It's adorable but it does work, though I got scolded for "wasting graphite." However, since the back of the pencils have built-in sharpeners, I'm not sure what the point is. Personally, I'd prefer to have an eraser on the back of the pencil, but my son strongly prefers the sharpener option, and the included eraser is a good quality polymer one that easily, you know, erases. The construction of the pencils is very plastic-y, lightweight, and not what I would call high-end (or even medium!). That's what I expected for the price, though, and after a few days of using one as his main pencil, the kid has nothing but raving praise: "The grip is the perfect size and shape for my hand!" (If I were buying for myself, I'd get a rock-solid Staedtler pencil, but then again, if I were buying for myself, I wouldn't get a 2mm pencil, so…) I included pictures of one of the stranger features: a ring that can be changed to indicate which graphite you're using. It's not automatic or anything, it's just a ring you slide around to help you remember or tell the difference. Since there are two hardness options included, I can kind of see why you might want it, but then again, I'd think someone with enough discernment to have a strong preference between HB and 2B graphite would probably buy a fancier pencil. If this is something you're interested in, though, I'll mention that the ring's options are 2B, B, HB, F, H, 2H, and 4H. In summary, these are a great value for a kid's specific request. When they all go missing (hopefully at least a few months hence), I'll buy more.

Great draftsman's Lead Holders (pencils)
GENERAL: They work well. I bought them because I do like a mechanical pencil, but I don't like the fragility of the 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 lead caliber types. Nor do I like having to click those fragile things every five or six inches of line drawn. These NICPRO very inexpensive 2mm draftsman pencils work as well as other more expensive brands. The only differences would be fit and finish, and maybe longevity. They lay down a line efficiently; what more can you ask of a pencil? SHARPENER #1: The pencils do need sharpening, of course, if you want a fine line, but the included plastic sharpeners generate a lot of loose carbon dust to deal with: I.e. Get a decent sharpener too; the included ones work, but have no dust catcher so you have to hold the pencil over a waste can while sharpening. FUNCTION: These pencils hold the lead properly, advance with a click, and stay sharp much longer than the others mentioned above, The lead is very sturdy (even the softer grade), and the pencils feel fine in the hand. My wife and daughter use them too and like them (there are 9 pencils here so plenty to give out). LEADS: The included black leads are fine, but the colored ones are a little too faint for my use (drafting), but that doesn't matter to me. If you want color, go for artist supplies. I'm also trying different lead brands: I like a fine, dark line, which is all about the lead, not the lead holder. SHARPENER #2: Edit#1: You can remove the cap and sharpen the pencil it comes from, but you have to pull hard. There is a little hole in the cap of each pencil, which turns out to be a sharpener (not mentioned in the description). You can't sharpen any pencil in its own cap, of course, but you can sharpen another. This little sharpener works, but then you have a lot of dust in the cap, which will eventually get everywhere IMHO. ID BAND: There is an aluminum ring around the barrel that can be rotated to reveal a lead hardness identifier. The first one I tried peeled the ID band out. Find another way to identify which lead is in any particular pencil, colored tape maybe. This ID band is the one cheesy thing I found with these pencils, but not a problem for me really as I'm drawing black lines and probably won't need more than one lead hardness. OVERALL: Fine lead holders for my drafting use. At a unit cost less than 1/10th the cost of some other brands, they're quite a bargain.

Quality V Value
These look good and are ok at this point, although one has become a little clogged and needed opening to clear. Youi can see is made with light weight and cheaper product, but they are not expensive, I would buy again as I can see problems with them and the material quality, but for the price certainly OK.

Now a few points that impact my review. I’ve always preferred writing in pencil than pen. I have a tendency to break the lead too often on thinner propelling pencils. I therefore tend to use standard wooden pencils to take notes as I’m old enough to want to write my notes rather than type on my phone. But I had a need for mobile note taking outside and kept kept losing the pencil as it wouldn’t just clip on to the pad. So the obvious answer was to look to an old fashion clutch pencil with the thicker lead. Well as with just about everything nowadays this gives me a huge choice at varying price points to pick from. While this set actually works more like a propelling pencil but for 2mm lead, it gave me 3 pencils with plenty of replacement lead at a good price with decent reviews to it was worth a try. Having received I would have to say I’m happy I tried. The pencils are comfortable to use, they write well for me with no breaking leads and I have 2 spares without even having to replace the lead yet. I also haven’t found myself without a pencil when I need it as the one I’m using clips securely to my pad. So good price, good product and my needs being met fully. Yes inside I still go for the traditional wooden pencil, and if I need something permanent out comes a pen, but that’s personal likes and need. Out and about note taking in the old fashion style I prefer is now met with this and doing the job well, so I have no justification not to give 5 stars.

Très bien les mines de couleurs fournies avec les porte-mines , si ce n'est que ceux-cis sont à mon idée un peu trop léger .
