i was quite impressed by the strength of this spade. i'm sure the bucket will give before this does. yes, it's heavy, but that's not a problem since it mounts on and off sitting flat on the ground. i call this the poor man's backhoe. makes good ballast, too! i bet they'd sell a lot more of these if they brought the price down.

I got this for planting Maple and Apple trees. I have this on my Yanmar ex3200 and digs nice holes 10x faster than I could do by hand. Worth the money. Weight is misleading as it doesn't look as heavy as you'd think but its a monster. I even dug up a 10yr old crabapple tree to move and sure saves the back digging it out. Plus I made a nice 3x4ft hole in under a minute in clay soil. Only caveat on this unit is I wish it had big tool-less fastening bolts so mainly I just carry a big Crescent wrench to secure on. You'll need a dolly cart or strong back to carry this thing around. Highly recommend!
