Daron Space Executive Series Launch System 1/144 Display Model

This one comes in at 319 feet shorter and 5.7 billion cheaper than the real thing so it's quite a bargain. Arrived packed in a lot of foam. It's very heavy, you can tell it is made of solid wood. I'm very happy with the quality and it looks good next to my Starship.

I have been looking for a good SLS model for awhile and finally came across this one. Its a good solid piece of wood and is painted with great detail. You can tell it is hand made. Much larger then I expect but sits well with my other models!

After a string of less than acceptable models recently, it was refreshing to receive this excellently produced model. Even my wife calls it "lovely".

It’s a bigger model than the 1/200 version and you should expect more, but upon opening the box I was disappointedly underwhelmed. Surface detailing and paint application could be much better and more refined. I’ve collected these types of models since I was 16 and have over 150 in my personal collection and donated several to local museums. It’s no secret quality and workmanship with these has seriously declined. On mine, there was definitely a sloppy job of excess black paint on one of the boosters, which, at this price should be unacceptable. It’s a nice model, but clearly Executive Desk Models can utilize better quality control is producing these highly collectible models. I’ll keep mine simply because there is no better alternative out on the market. Collectors would do well to simply purchase the 1/200 scale version for a more modest outlay.
